cindy Sheehan and Hugo Chavez

oldreliable67 said:
In June 2004, Sheehan and 16 other families of soldiers killed in Iraq met with Bush in Fort Lewis, WA. Sheehan was quoted by The Vacaville Reporter as saying, "'I know he's sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he's a man of faith," and, "For the first time in 11 weeks, they felt whole again."

Mediamatters has a pretty good write-up on the kerfuffle that followed the Drudge Reports reporting of some of Sheehan's remarks allegedly out of context.

That was before Michael Moore and moveon.org got a hold of her.....

Feinstein doesn't have a "district." She's a US Senator representing the entire state of California. And the state of California as a whole would never elect someone like Cindy Sheehan.

Feinstein is and EX mayor of San Francisco and its true there are no districts that is where the majority of her votes come from......She is very popular there......

Feinstein is popular all over CA, which is why she has been a democratic senator for the state since 1992.

Any politican that fights for womans rights and homosexual rights (which seems to be majority democratic) would be popular around San Fran.

You also have to realize that a great majority of these voters you are talking about have a higher education and are active in politics. An educated person would laugh at Sheehan on the ballot.

Like I said Feinstein is very popular in the San Francisco, Berkeley area ...........

We shall see about Sheehan......She has a big nutcase following in California....

Stay tuned.........

Cindy Sheehan is A-OK! And so is Michael New who refused to wear anything to do with the un. on his AMERICAN uniform. Chavez, Heck,gotta love him. A true Populist. He even helped out the poor in NYC. with cheap oil to heat their homes. He could well help us all. Remember..the bulk of U.S.A. oil comes from So. America,not "over there'.

well..err thanks for your replies everyone!

The more the Right villifies her, the more the Left sanctifies her.

I think she's villified herself. Go out and ask a few Democrats what they think. I know of two card carrying Democrats who think like I do. One is a Marine and one is a civillian in St. Louis. Better yet....ask her family.

Sheehan has nothing to do with "right" or "left" anymore. Even the "left" has strayed from using her. She's a nut case that has lost complete control of her grief.

When Sheehan first appeared on the scene I supported her protest. The grieving mother is a symbol. If Bush had gone outside and talked to her we wouldn't even be discussing this.

And this is just one more distortion put out by the left, Bush did meet with Sheehan and she even said something to the effect that she liked Bush in an interview she did after the meeting.

According to government reports you're wrong. We get most of our oil from Canada. Second and third on the list are Mexico and Saudi Arabia respectively. Nigeria, which is in Africa, comes in fourth. The first country on the list "down there" is Venezuela which comes in at number five.

Maybe then it would be more apt to say the extreme right villifies her and the extreme left idolizes her.

Your second paragraph is no more than a personal opinion that I, in fact, do agree with but our personal opinions are not always law nor are they the final word.

That is great........There is no question that her views represent the thinking of the base of the democratic party......

If that is true then Pat Robertson must represent the thinking of the base of the republican party.

He's not a tyrant TOT. That was discussed quite thoroughly

OH YEAH?!? WHY DON'T YOU GO MARRY HIM?

Look, in all seriousness,

Hitler = Dictator
Saddam = Dictator
Castro = Dictator
Chavez = Dictator in training
GySgt = Sexy beast

These five facts are simply indisputable.

Prove it. Or better yet, provide your definition for a dictator and I will prove to you that Chavez is not one.

This sounds eerily familiar to me. :lol:

I am no big Robertson fan but do you see him saying that we are the biggest terrorist country in the world and the terroists in Iraq are like our minutemen....

Do you see him meeting with socialists and communists and putting this country down?

Never mind.......:roll:

He is self proclaimed socialist...

He's not? I guess I was absent from school that day. Seriously, I guess I missed that thread - I thought his suppression of dissension during the elections, militaristic activities, elimination of political opponents, etc., rather labeled him as a pretty solid candidate for dictator-in-training?

Just my impression - he makes a great populist speech and is quite adept at generating 'us poor disadvantaged victims against those rich, powerful, abusive norte americanos' fervor, but in the final analysis, its all about him and power. YMMV.

Scanned for a 'Chavez' thread but didn't see one - can you point me to same? Thanks!

Here you go:

It was kinda old. Quite a lot of proof there that he never suppressed opposing parties, had no hand in unneeded military action, and wait....eliminated political opponents? What are you talking about?
