Howdy Folks!

Just an old country boy here, looking for a new place to discuss current events and politics. I think I've outgrown the site where I used to post.

I'm pretty conservative in that I think the government ought to:
protect the shores,
build the roads,
lock up the crooks,
And not much else.

I hunt, fish, farm, kill my own meat, grow my own vegetables.
I support God, my family, and country, in that order.
I believe in the equality devised by Dr. Samuel Colt, For defending oneself is a God given right no one should take away.
And I am ashamed that while most of this great country supported invading Iraq, most of us now seem to want to pull out and give that country back to oppressors.

I'm sure more will come out over time, for now, I have alot of threads to read!!

Hey there Chuck. Great to know that you're here.
As Pull My Finger stated, I too find your self sufficiency in the food department inspiring and amazing. Maybe more of us can be at peace with ourselves if we grew and made our own food, myself included. Not too much time in my life where I can grow my own fruits and vegetables, although I would like to start someday. Sooner than later

My wife cans the veggies, tomatos, beans, corn, etc.
The more you depend on others for your needs, the weaker you are, IMHO.
If the trucks stopped running, in case of war, or any other reason, I like to think my family'd do better than most. Our version of independence, I guess.

We do still shop however.

I'm a technical person. Used to work for Japanese auto manufacturers, building car plants, all over North America and some overseas. Electrical engineer and PLC programming, as well as a Union Millwright. Quit all that after 9/11. (I know, the terrorists have already won) I ain't afraid of dying, but when I get to the pearly gates, I don't want to have to explain how I died halfway around the world from home, chasing the almighty dollar, instead of defending hearth and home.

Debate here goes fast! I need to make sure I have some real debate time before posting. Not like I'm used to.
