Following a warning in the thread about last night's gay club massacre, I moved my post to this topic

He is a natural born American... from New York. Not heard any confirmation of his religious views, but regardless Muslims and Christians (the radical kinds) have almost identical attitudes towards homosexuals.
Do you honestly believe that? I'm guessing.....no. ;)

Point being? Atheist regimes, atheists, and militant secularists have killed, called for deaths, and argued for restricted rights for people of faith too.

The gay club massacre seems to be an act of Islamic Terrorism given what we know. I'm sorry it's not a Christian you can use to advance some kind of discriminatory mentality against people of a faith.

Uhhh.... what does that have to do with the OP?

A couple of fringe idiots.

Am I to concern myself with a leftist propaganda hit piece with "THE Christian Right" in the title? Yeah no.

It is not "discriminatory mentality" when I point out in response to the denial of one commenter that there are Christians who also advocate for the death of gays. It is the irrational response of some which illustrates their lack of knowledge about the Islamic faith that causes me to point out that advocates of other religions can be just as biased and hate-filled as the Islamic fundamentalists.

As there are "gay-friendly" churches, there are now gay-friendly mosques in Western nations.

"Fringe"? Nice rationlization.

That viewpoint isn't uncommon in a great deal of the far right fundamentalist/evangelical 'community'.

Ted Cruz even embraces one of the lunatic proponents of putting gays to death.

Utter nonsense. I have been involved with various Christian denominations for my entire life and not only is that viewpoint uncommon, but from my experience, it is non existent. That is the textbook definition of "fringe".

LOL! Your personal experience is utterly irrelevant to the reality that that mindset is not uncommon amongst the community I cited. It's simple reality. No one's asking you to like it.

A massacre by a Muslim and suspected terrorist and the left has to remind us that some crazy Christians may have called for violence in the past. It absolutely is a discriminatory mentality. Why bring up Christians in response to a massacre by a Muslim? Need to remind the country that "Christians are crazy and just as guilty" or something like that because someone committed the atrocity that didn't belong to a background group you want to peg guilt to?

Upon what do you base your opinion (for that's all that it is)? What is your experience within the church?

Similar attitudes and a massacre are two very different things, don't you think?

Not only are they two very different things, but but one is easily verifiable, and one is obviously an infinitesimally small fringe group.

Is there a single Christian theocracy in existence today which persecutes homosexuals? What about Islamic theocracies? Case closed.

Similar attitudes and a massacre are two very different things, don't you think?

Even Westboro Baptist Church, which is about was fringe as you can get doesn't advocate human violence against homosexuals.

I keep up with the media and the reportage about this matter, and I have family members who, unfortunately, adhere to that viewpoint and are part of that community.

It's not hard to find if you try.

Your Google search is about one guy, again, textbook definition of "fringe". If this attitude were popular among Christians, wouldn't your search yield more results?

What is your personal experience within the church? Oh, that's right you have fictional family members involved. You'll forgive me if I don't find your story to be believable. ;)

There is a reason leftists do this: the act of identifying radical Islam as a problem leads to the necessity of having to deal with it. Pretending radical islam is no different than 'radical' Christianity is to pretend a moral equivalency exists between the two religions when no such corollary exists. At root, the liberal tolerance of Islamic barbarity is rooted in cowardice. Why confront an evil if you can fool yourself into believing it doesn't exist?

Advocating the death of gays and walking into a bar and killing 50 of them are the same thing? Tell me, why is that whenever we have one of these shootings that demonstrate radical Islam, you guys always try to deflect to "Christians are just as bad or worse"?

Is it that you love Islam or hate Christianity?

I think it's even more petty than that. I think that leftists will always take the opposing view of the right wing. So if you say Islam is bad, they will defend Islam. If you say abortion is murder, they will defend abortion. If you say Conservatism is good, they say it is evil.

It's the nature of who they are as an ideology.

No, it's not just about one guy. And I've already described what factions it's not uncommon it. I never said "popular among Christians".

Given your rank dishonesty thus far in only a few posts, it's clear you're not interested in raitonal discourse.

Carry on, sport.

Point being? Atheist regimes, atheists, and militant secularists have killed, called for deaths, and argued for restricted rights for people of faith too.

And who are this groups exactly? Because atheism isn't an ideology or even a claim to an ideology. There are no tenants, no rules, and no standards that one needs to follow to be an atheist (other than a disbelief in a god or gods.) Unlike Islam, which is very much an ideology.

What have I been dishonest about? Please be specific.

A. My google search was not about 'one guy'.
B. I never said it was 'popular among Christians'; that's a strawman.

Look, I get it: you have to misrepresent what I've said so you can stick to your script and not have to address what I've said.

You can do that alone, sport. I'm not interested in cutsie-poo word games.
