Asia Bibi, a 45-year-old mother-of-five, denies blasphemy and told investigators that she was being persecuted for her faith in a country where Christians face routine harassment and discrimination.

Ashiq Masih, her husband, said he had not had the heart to break the news to two of their children. "I haven't told two of my younger daughters about the court's decision," he said. "They asked me many times about their mother but I can't get the courage to tell them that the judge has sentenced their mother to capital punishment for a crime she never committed." Mrs Bibi has been held in prison since June last year.

But remember folks, Christianity/Judaism/Buddhism/Hinduism are just like Islam

But go ahead and list all the Western Christian dominated societies or Israel, South America or India that sentence people to death for blasphemy

Its not the religion its the people, culture, and society. Its two completely different things in this regard. The same way Christianity allowed people to be killed for blasphemy, whereas in places like Malaysia or Turkey there is no such thing even though they are Muslims.

Kindof like 'the crucible' or something.

I heard she was pardoned. Her Muslim neighbor falsely accused her of blaspheming muhammad over a civil dispute. Pakistan is a screwed up country and shouldn't have blasphemy laws in the first place. Secondly they shouldn't be punishable by death. My heart goes out to those who have died "blaspheming" muhammad and were sentenced to death. At least Pakistan caved under international pressure.

I'm more concerned with the status of apostates than those who "blasphemed" in the Muslim world.
Very few non Muslims get executed for that anyway
