Christian Extremist Says His ‘Righteous Anger’ Made Him ‘Confront’ Women for Wearing ‘Pornographic’ Bathing Suits

Non sequitur. If we're talking sociological definitions of modesty and taste in regards to fashion, then Freudian speculation about the "why" such and such a person dresses like this or that has nothing to do with it.

So dress is not expression? He's expressing that he's a bitch. So we gotta wonder why. What did he do to become a bitch.

I think that his righteous anger is actually an erection.
As a longtime fan of the Righteous Brothers (RIP, BobbyHatfield), I take offense to his using the word.

Seriously, however, why pick on bikinis? One of the joys for guys interested in feminine pulchritude on display has been how, since the 1950s, women's fashions have gotten more, um, observable. Heels, tight skirts, short skirts, slit skirts (previously stereotypically associated with ladies of the night), hip huggers, and now yoga pants. My aunt told me some years ago that it used to be considered somewhat slutty for a woman to wear heels with slacks. Would have been interested in what she would say had she lived come decades longer.

Okay, so I didn't read the whole thing, but as far as I'm aware up to this point, it was an obnoxious sales pitch which never legally escalated into harassment.
thanks for your opinion even though you admit to not reading the whole thing or watching the video LOL but i have no interest in rehashing a topic from sept 2021

A Christian extremist flouting what he calls his “freedom of speech” is refusing to apologize to several women he harassed at a beach by telling them “the truth” that in his estimation their bathing suits were “pornographic” and not appropriate. The man says he felt a “righteous anger” and a “boldness by the Holy Spirit to go in to confront” them.

A viral TikTok video posted by one of the young women, Mia, in Fort Collins, Colorado shows the man Newsweek says is Logan Dorn, telling them they are “flaunting your stuff,” and “your whole body is showing.”

The women repeatedly urge the man to leave them alone, but he responds by saying, “Here’s the thing, there’s free will in America, there’s freedom of speech,” apparently unaware that that First Amendment activity also protects how people choose to dress.

The women tell Dorn, “why are you looking at me. Close your eyes,” “I’m not flaunting anything, don’t look at me,” “please go,” and “get the f*** away.”

Dorn tells them to “take young eyes into consideration,” while calling their appearance, “pornography.”

Then he starts to attack transgender people.

“People, you know, don’t even know their gender anymore. People don’t even know. You know, they can go from, you know, if you’re, if they’re born a male they can be a female, if they’re born a female that can be a male, you know, society is really jacked up, and I’m going to continue to stay on the word of truth I’m gonna continue.”

“There’s a longing deep in your soul, that only Jesus can satisfy,” Dorn concludes.

Oh the horror, his legs and arms are showing!!
I agree to not judge women for being female in new millennium times.

Women have a First Amendment with me and can be brazen hussies who enjoy being women and "baring their ankles on public beaches".

Okay so this wasn't a legal thing, it was just a guy being obnoxious. Got it.

So dress is not expression? He's expressing that he's a bitch. So we gotta wonder why. What did he do to become a bitch.
The sociology isn't concerned with the "why", it's concerned with the "what". That's my understanding.

Huh?

Okay, but I don't think Iranian standards are worth taking seriously to begin with. If anything, I'd use something akin to a classical Greek or Roman ideal as a reference point and then debate from there. Especially given that a lot of it is heavily contextual, and not simply about "nudity" or even "sex" in a vaccum.
hell, i was just using a time earlier in our own history.

Religious extremists must be marginalized.

I don't care what name their god goes by.

Flipping through channels the other night I stopped and
listened to some lady talking for about ten minutes about
all kinds of fun kinky stuff to do.
Then, in my bong haze it dawned on me that it's one of
the religious channels and she was reading from a list of sins.

The man says he felt a “righteous anger”

We know what that shit looks like...it's always some guy doing a finger bang with his index finger.

Usually followed by bombings or mass shootings.

I was wondering where my dental floss was. Now it will taste funny...

What happened to the OP? MIA

When calling for more modesty is labeled as 'extreme'...o_O

The world DESPERATELY needs more modesty.

Okay, so to summarize here. We have a bunch of whiners and thirsty dudes who probably imagine any "woman in a bikini photo" to be 6'4'' (when she's probably more like 5'4''). Doesn't sound like their depth of thought or paltry understanding of "what it takes to be with a woman" reaches much deeper than that of a 13-year old boy just discovering how to masturbate. None of the women "like that" that I've been with were necessarily less "ordinary" than any other woman, and if anything, "getting with any woman" is more of a matter of just being in the right place at the right time.

And as far as the OP goes, it's pretty pointless to try to have an objective discussion of topics like modesty with such a pitiable, loser/incel mindset permeating the place.

We are still grappling with our Puritan heritage. America is a weird mix of an oversexualized consumer culture coupled with bizarre religious extremist overreactions like this Fred Durst look alike goober.

Damn, so bestiality, rape, and pedophilia sound like a list of "fun things to do in bed" to you? :0 Might want to see someone about that...

Christian Taliban. Complete losers just like the real taliban and ISIS

I'd say that you failed (again), ray...

Anyway, this half-cocked jesus freak going on about his 'righteous anger' made me think of Mike Tyson's famous quote...

Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Just insert 'righteous anger' for "a plan"...

Imagine this guy getting washed up from a shipwreck onto a nude beach. I'm betting he doesn't swim back out to sea.
