my comment is pretty much tongue-in-cheek, as I think Christie is genuine in is comments. I do think, however, that I am right on the result.
Sandy is the October surprise and the Romney demise (though his Jeep ad in Ohio is probably what really cooked him).
He is just brilliantly set himself up for 2016. He has destroyed his weak rival (Romney) and greatly enhanced his image in one move. Christie has pretty much sewn up the Republican nomination of 2016.
I don't know. Two Obama terms can greatly shift the Republican ticket needed. Christie has a possibility, but they may try another person we do not know yet. 3 years is a while.
You are correct. Its rare that you can identify the next party nominee four years out. Who ever heard of Obama in 2004 or Bush in 1996?
Like the LA Gov who resisted asking for Federal Aid and then blamed Bush for not violating the posse Comitatus Act.
Interesting that the Democrat Pres was lauded for cooperative efforts by the Republican Gov but the Republican pres was condemned by the Dem Gov.
Almost makes you think that the Dems play politics while the Reps work in the real world...

Chris Christie: Obama ‘outstanding’ in response to Hurricane Sandy
This is exactly how I would love to see politics be at all times. Normally, I am not a fan of Christie but I appreciate that he has put the people of his state above all others and certainly above hyper-partisan BS that is easy to sling. I appreciate the fact that he "doesn't give a damn" about presidential election politics and believe that this is a shining example of how state and federal government, as well as republicans and democrats can work together. Posted on the page is also a video I believe to be worth watching.
Thoughts?

I respectfully disagree. He's not nearly right wing enough or crazy enough to get the Republican nomination for 2016. The Right will never forgive him for his actions today. It's how they roll.

I am wondering if the party will finally tact a bit left. Perhaps they will see the conservative Romney was headed for a big defeat and it wasn't until the etch-a-sketch drew the moderate Romney did he climb back into the race. Moreover, several of the far right-wing Senate candidates the the Cons have put up are headed for defeat in places that would be easy wins.
....ok, optimistic, idealistic thinking. Its probably time to head back to earth. After all, that happened in 2010 in several states and they did it again. The Cons are such ideologues that they fell is better to run a wack-a-doo and lose than to win with someone that is less than pure.
LOL FEMA's slooow response in Katrina was inexcusable and Bush rightly took the blame.
No need to rewrite history, I thought Bush wasn't running this year?
I heard him briefly this afternoon singing the President's praises. He said the President made a number of calls in the limo while they were traveling to get immediate answers to Christie's questions. I also heard from the commentator, I think, that the President has promised every governor in the effected states will get a call back within ten minutes from a help line in the White House.
Cool.
