What did Chip do?

Chip Roy is just another ambitious guy, with no talent. By the way, how’s Bob Good doing? I hope some talented challengers are getting ready in the Great State of Texas to go after Chip in the Primary. He won’t have a chance!

I don’t know, what does “getting in the way,” mean?
 
Maybe Chip will reconsider his position. Manchin and Sinema know all about bucking their party’s positions. It’s a common tactic, and House republican’s have a very slim majority, so they need every Republican vote to get anything done. Given the Republican in-fighting in the House, it’ll probably be like herding cats.

Oh well. I’m not keeping up. I’m baking pumpkin custard pies. I only just heard that assurances were given that all would be made right in the legislative world. Assurances, and a dollar will get you…not much.

Anyway, just about all dems and 38 reps voted it down.
 
That's Trump going off his feed. Roy won his last two general elections by a margin of about 25-30%. Primary wins were even more decisive.

Nobody ever had any intention of making a deal.

Everyone figured they'd run the clock out and then make demands.

I agree. Both parties have done this forever. I figured this would float around for a while yet, but a deal would’ve been good, so I had a moment of hope. In reality, shutting down isn’t really shutting down much anyway. Everybody can go home, celebrate the holidays, and return to partisan warfare after the new year.

The "American People" weren't the ones who implemented a debt ceiling law.

This has nothing to do with "passing a budget." It doesn't matter if spending is appropriated in a single bill, or a dozen bills. This is happening because of the debt ceiling.
 

Chip Roy has long been a festering boil on the ass end of congress.

One of the funny things about harnessing the rage of the mob is that it's never really harnessed and constantly demands fresh meat.

Just like last time around, one person after another will be thrown to the wolves.

Chip Roy made a great speech in a technical sense, but I will not miss him when they throw him in the hopper.
