Chinese Computer Trumps US One as World's Fastest

A Chinese scientific research center has built the fastest supercomputer ever made, replacing the United States as maker of the swiftest machine, and giving China bragging rights as a technology superpower.

The computer, known as Tianhe-1A, has 1.4 times the horsepower of the current top computer, which is at a national laboratory in Tennessee, as measured by the standard test used to gauge how well the systems handle mathematical calculations, said Jack Dongarra, a University of Tennessee computer scientist who maintains the official supercomputer rankings.

To be fair I believe the U.S. still has more supercomputers at the top of the list, but this is probably going to change.

We're #1 in the number of people we incarcerate (both per capita and in absolute terms). We're also #1 or #2 in obesity...I think Mexico surpassed us a couple years ago, but I'm confident we can take back our title with enough determination and Big Macs. :lol:

I think China has more prisoners in absolute terms and russia has a close incarceration rate. Not sure though.
