I don't remember if it was you or someone else that brought this up in another thread.
After we withdrew from the ABM treaty, that shifted the balance of power of MAD between the US and China. China's recent technological development then rebalanced that power with the ability to "blind" our NMD system. On a flip side indeed China and peace today seem more synonymous than US and peace if you count the number of wars started in the last 50 years.
