China is betraying a level of strategic anxiety not yet seen as the impact of trade tariffs looms and its return to its historical power role in the Asia seems to have stalled.

On Dec. 20, Chinese Rear Adm. Lou Yuan, while speaking at a military trade conference, announced that what the United States feared most was casualties and that the easiest way to defeat China’s main rival was to sink two American supercarriers, killing over 10,000 sailors in the process. When that has happened, Admiral Lou announced, then “we’ll see how frightened America is.”

Lou’s statements were followed just a few days later by China’s president, Xi Jinping, who threateningly said China “reserves the option of taking all necessary measures” to ensure “peaceful reunification” with Taiwan, a democracy that has governed itself apart from China since 1949. Xi added that Beijing was willing to “fight the bloody battle against our enemies,” and menacingly predicted: “Reunification is the historical trend and the right path, Taiwan independence is ... a dead end.”

Now that China’s Communist Party has revealed its real intentions, Trump should ratchet up the pressure. Its time for another revolution in China. China’s economy is weakening, and they still seem to feel they have the right to steal technology and reject the idea of comparative advantage, and blithely waltz along unconcered about other countries rights because they are a modern resurrection of the Middle Kingdom!

To swallow up Taiwan would be like Russia invading the entire Ukrain, using the excuse “Because we’re Russian, that’s why!” (Worse, actually).

There has to be more to that comment. Surely anyone who makes it to rank of admiral is aware of Pearl Harbor, and its subsequent consequences. Someone tell that dude to give Japan a call....ask em how that worked out for them...

Unfortunately, thanks to President Carter's "unilateral" cancellation of the Sino-American Mutual Defense Treaty back in 1979 (the precedent allowing Trump to do the same with those trade agreements btw), we have no actual "obligation" to go to war if China invades Taiwan.

There is the Taiwan Relations Act.
Taiwan Relations Act (Public Law 96-8, 22 U.S.C. 3301 et seq.)

But that is not an ironclad guarantee for the USA to go to war in Taiwan's defense.

This is not just wrong, it is delusional. The New Chinese Empire senses that the West is weak and they are on the move to exploit that weakness.

That is an obligation we have fortunately avoided. Like Obama green lighting Russia taking Crimea. We cant fight China over Tiawan.

The consequences of for China are immense. Likely consequences include:
The cost of the endevor
The cost of garrosing the island
Diplomatic and economic isolation.
And 23 additional members of the PRC that hate your guts.

And with Trump at the helm, an immediated end of trade with China.

Bush jr and Obama gave that idea. Trump is dissuading them of that nation. China is built on a house of sand.

The reaction to Trump from Americas elite informs China that America is a house of sand.

If you aren’t interested in the topic, find some other thread to crap instead of crapping all over this one like a junior high school student on a sugar high.

Afghanistan is a reminder to the Muslim hostiles that if you attack us, we are going to be up in you for quite awhile.
