LOL if the Chinese are actually dumb enough to send their military into Afghanistan, they will run back to China with their tails tucked between their legs after a few years.
I doubt it. Their military brutality is well documented. They wouldn't lose sleep over "accidently" killing a large group of civilians to "calm a situation".

Of course, but the Russians were as brutal as they were, yet the Afghans beat them back. There's a reason why that region is called the graveyard of empires.

Probably; and just as every other invader has done since the time of Alexander the Great. Curiously the Afghan people don't like their nation being invaded by foreigners.

To most Afghans the term "foreigner" means

"someone to whom I am not directly related by blood and who comes from further away than the next valley"
.

to them the term "stranger" means

"someone who comes from some other valley than the one that I live in REGARDLESS of their blood relationship to me"
.

Most Afghans (as are the people of almost all insular and tribal cultures) are actively suspicious of "strangers" and actively hostile to "foreigners".

Make that "... yet the Afghans (with the assistance of the Taliban, the Pakistanis, and the Americans) beat them back." and I'll agree with you.

The Afghans (like the Vietnamese) are not likely to receive assistance from the US once the US has "declared victory and gone home" The Pakistanis are not likely to object to the Chinese presence. As for the Taliban, the Afghans will simply have to decide which band of murderous thugs they want running the country - the one that continues to be a band of murderous thugs even after they win (the Taliban) or the one that is content to stop being murderous thugs when they win.

That, of course, is all predicated on the Chinese ACTUALLY intending to send troops into Afghanistan (upon which I most certainly am not [yet] prepared to bet -the rent- -my lunch money- -coffee money- a dime).

Pray tell, what capability does the Chinese military have that the US doesnt? China hasnt been in a real shooting war since the 1980's when they went up against Vietnam (and the Vietnamese kicked ass too). If the Chinese do go in, they'll get their butts whupped, count on it.

And the Pakistanis will always support the Taliban. Who knows, maybe even India might end up supporting them too if the Chinese go in.

In fact, I do hope China does send troops in there. If there is one country that needs to get its ass whupped right now, its China. They have become very arrogant as of late.

The Chinese had strictly limited objectives in Vietnam. They achieved them. One of those objections was NOT "the conquest of Vietnam".

The Pakistanis will support whichever "best friend" is currently paying the most for their support. China can pay one hell of a lot more than the Taliban can.

As before, the odds of the PRC doing anything other than attempting to sucker the US into staying in Afghanistan are not such that you should be betting your lunch money of it.

Stop reading dumb China daily. The one and only objective of the Vietnam war was to show the USA that CCP was done with USSR and Communist International, and Vietnam was their pledge. The side effect was Deng Xiaoping got the absolutely power.

The Chinese aim was to get Vietnam out of Cambodia, but Vietnam left of its own accord years later, so no, the Chinese failed to achieve their war aims.

And you have once again failed to answer the question as to what makes the Chinese military superior to the US when it comes to fighting the Afghans.

America paid a lot more to Pakistan than the Taliban did, but the Pakistanis still supported the latter anyway, so your argument is moot.

Sounds suspiciously like the Soviets.
Of course it would be surreal (but not unexpected) to see Western countries sending weapons to various warlords freedom fighters all over again...

You answered the first question yourself.

I'm sorry that you don't like the answers to the question that you asked - they happen to be true.

And I proved you wrong on it.

The Chinese attacked Vietnam in 1979 to try and get them out of Cambodia. The Chinese then withdrew after a few weeks while the Vietnamese stayed in Cambodia until 1989.

So youre wrong.
