China’s response to the crisis has been closely watched because it is considered to have the most leverage with the unpredictable, reclusive North Korean regime. China, a veto-wielding Security Council member, is the North’s top provider of desperately needed energy and economic aid.
It is being reported that both China and Russia are against U.N. sanctions that declare NK can neither buy or sell anything related to a/its nuclear weapons program, as well. In other words, they have no problem with NK selling Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, or any other terrorist group one of their nukes!
Once again, and hopefully/possibly once and for all, the U.N. is proving its insignificance and inability to address any of the world's serious issues/problems!
