So one of the protester's main goals has come into fruition. Chile just voted to rewrite their Pinochet era constitution.

This is obviously huge. I hope this will turn things around for the better for Chile. The next step will be to elect the members of the Constitutional Convention.

For so many Chileans, this is exactly what this vote represents: goodbye to a dictatorship-era constitution, and hello to a new beginning that people feel is more fitting for a modern democracy.
