As the Trump administration continues to double down on its policy of separating parents from their children at the border and placing said children in cages, the president and his attorney general, who ordered the strategy in April, have told traumatized parents, the outraged public, and factions of Congress that there’s one surefire way to put a stop to this mess: comply with their ransom demand. On Monday, Jeff Sessions told the National Sheriffs’ Association, “If we build the wall, if we pass legislation to end the lawlessness, we won’t face these terrible choices,” echoing a report from Axios that Trump views the breaking up of families “as leverage for a border wall.” But because the president of the United States doesn’t understand how the government works, he and his bloodthirsty Chihuahua Stephen Miller will not be satisfied by mere congressional approval of and partial funding for a pointless, ineffective border wall. No—for Trump to even think about ending a policy that will undoubtedly leave thousands of children scarred for life—something that’s fully in his power to do—he wants the full $25 billion, and he wants it now. And what’s President Mc-Tweets-a-Lot going to do if he doesn’t get the cash A.S.A.P.? According to Politico, Trump said during the meeting that if Congress doesn’t essentially fill a bunch of trash bags with unmarked twenties and deliver them to the White House, he’ll shut down the government in September—a mere two months before midterms.
Never mind the fact that the $1.6 billion figure came from his own Office of Management and Budget Director, Mick Mulvaney, who requested it from Congress earlier this year. Or the fact that Democrats actually offered to give him the $25 billion in funding in exchange for granting the 1.8 million undocumented immigrants whose fates are tied to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program a path to citizenship. Those facts, as usual, are lost on Big Orange. “Thousands of children are being forcibly removed from their parents by our government. There is no other way to say it, this is not who we are and it must end now,” Thomas Donahue, the president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, wrote in a blog post on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Business Roundtable, which represents top U.S. chief executive officers, said in a statement that the current “practice is cruel and contrary to American values.” Even renowned cyborg Mark Zuckerberg wrote on Facebook that the government needs “to stop this policy right now,” and told readers to donate to organizations “doing great work helping families at the U.S. border get legal advice and translation services, as well as documenting what is happening on the ground.”
Child Kidnapper Donald Trump Wants to Take the Government Hostage, Too
Trump could be screaming about ... basically anything
As Trump, Sessions, and Nielsen have all alluded to, their policy of kidnapping the children of Latin American families seeking asylum in the US is at core a policy of blackmail. Trump wants all of the funding ($25 billion) for his white-elephant Wall right now and he will sacrifice children to obtain all of that funding. If this inhumane ploy fails, Trump next threatens to shut down the entire government in September (when the current funding bill expires) until he gets what he demands. As with kidnapping children, shutting down the US government will be entirely on Trump ... Congressional Republicans won't go along with such poison-pill-extortion so close to the midterm elections. It should be obvious to all by now that Donald Trump is a common thug.

He isn't kidnapping children or holding them hostage. He hasn't told them he would stop enforcing the law if they fund the wall. He has said the wall will greatly reduce the number of incidents. If that indeed is what Trump is doing to get the border secure, then I say good. Mr. Trump carry on you have my support. Time to play hard ball.

He should not sign any spending bill that does not include funding the wall. Force congress to go on record on where they stand by voting to override his veto

Then send all your money you want to so the wall can be built then. My guess is you haven't sent any money to him for that effort. Trump promised the wall would be paid for by Mexico, so when the "master" negotiator gets that to happen, he can get his wall.
It's good to know you accept extortion as long as it is used for something YOU want to happen.
More trolling, how novel of you. Your like a one trick pony. I don't think I have ever seen you articulate an actual thought on a topic for as l8ve as I been posting here. Why is Congress supposed to fund a wall that Mexico is paying for?

I'm sorry I made you cry and you are faced with the horrors of your crush lying to you, and now desperately needing the Democrats to help him out. I'd cry too if I were you.
You are a meanie!
I know. And you're a duck!
Trolling is all you got. It's seems your incapable of making a single salient pointI'm sorry I made you cry and you are faced with the horrors of your crush lying to you, and now desperately needing the Democrats to help him out. I'd cry too if I were you.

ZzzzzzzSo you only want to talk about me, and not the subject of the thread? I'm flattered.

I fully accept that Trump was wrong about getting Mexico to fund the wall. It's a fair complaint for people to raise. It's not trolling, it's a VALID complaint. If Trump promised the wall to be paid for by Mexico, then get the money from Mexico and you can get the wall. If he claims he will get the money from Mexico by withholding aid, then withhold that aid and when he gets to $25 million he can have his wall. What you guys all hate is Trump LIED (as usual) and has to kidnap children from their parents to extort money from congress now to pay for it. Well sorry no, that isn't going to happen. He should be arrested.

That being said let's discuss the lie your trying to promote. Trump has not said if you fund the wall he will stop enforcing the law.

How many times to o have to ask you to stop trying to troll me?Then why did you cry and accuse me of trolling when I brought it up?
And where did Praxas say "Trump said if you fund the wall he will stop enforcing the law"?
How many times to o have to ask you to stop trying to troll me?
You dont know how to have an honest discussion. Im not interested in playing your game. Go play it with somebody else. Your being annoying

I think everyone who voted for Trump should kick in for the wall he and they told us that Mexico was paying for.
So in other words, you just lied to that poster when you said it was a fair question. You really only think it's fair when it isn't coming from someone who constantly bests you on this board. Your surrender is accepted.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Monday that if Congress passes legislation to build a wall on the Mexican border, the Trump administration wouldn't need its "zero tolerance" border policy that has resulted in the separation of parents from their children.
“President Trump has said this cannot continue. We do not want to separate parents from their children," Sessions told the National Sheriffs' Association annual conference on Monday.
that would make sense if all the supporters of the New Deal and the Great Society programs had done the same
