TOKYO (Reuters) - Vice President Dick Cheney said on Wednesday the United States wants to finish its mission in Iraq and "return with honor," despite the war's growing unpopularity at home and doubts among U.S. allies.

Well Well, now does this statement suprise me. There is no honor in Iraq. We aggressively invaded Iraq. We, the USA,had no reason for this invasion. It was pure raw unadulterated agression in the same way that Hitler invaded poland, or Russia, invaded Finland. It is a shame to see our troops die for nothing but, that is the nature of being the bad guy. I had a young nephew killed in Iraq. Even my sister know he died for nothing but following orders.

Bush and Cheney made sure there was on honor in Iraq, by attacking for no reason.

when all the terrorism stuff was going on in Afghanistan? why did the USA invade and waste all those lives in Iraq, instead of fighting the war on terror.

Fighting terrorism is honorable, so let us get back to fighting terrorism instead of fighting in Iraq, and creating more terrorists.

The problem is, the mission keeps changing. It started with WMD because the neocons knew that was the only way Americans would support an invasion of Iraq. Even if stability were achieved in Iraq, the troops wouldn't get to "return with honor" because the stated PNAC goal is to "fight and decisively win multiple, simultaneous major-theater wars."

Sadly it's closer to reality then you'll ever get. Quote a single time I've said "i hate bush" on the other hand I've always said I like the man. It's his cronies and and the way they think that I dont like. Overall I believe he's been a good president considering the situation he's placed the nation in. He's kept a cooler head in situation where I myself would have died of a heartattack. If it wasn't for the fact his message has stayed the same I would probably want for him to stay for another 4 years. Sadly politics and a weak hand have ruined his image. He came into the game thinking the republicans would always have his back and like the dogs they are they've turned on him now that they no longer have the upper hand. He's never had a firm grip on what he needs to do and that is something I dont admire in any man. I believe his idea for the war on terror was probably one of the most decisive things ever done by any president. The execution of this idea however falls short of what is expected.

They were probably ordered to do so. Of all the major politicians in the USA today none has a lower approval rating than Dick Cheney. He is the benchmark that all other despised elected officials will be measured by from now on.

Did you also hear him say that the Brits pulling out of Iraq was actually a positive sign? Can you believe the spin! Here were are "SURGING", sending in 21,000 more troops and our closest ally is bugging out....did you also see that Denmark is also taking all of their 500 soldiers out of Iraq?

Did you see that the Italian government toppled today because of their involvement in Iraq?

Did you note how the elections in the USA went on November 7th, 2006?

Politically speaking Bush and Cheney are dreams for the Democratic Party. Sadly they're also nightmares for the entire country as to the effect they've had on our country and our standing in the world community.

Things are so bad right now that at this point I would have preferred that Bush had somehow been a little right because the end result of his mistakes are so deadly and costly that even Democrats like me can't take their failures anymore because they're so severe.

If you knew anything about the military you would know that all their periodicals lean far to the left...........I use to subscribe to the Navy Times but I cancelled my subscription becasue of their bias left wing reporting especially editorially..........

As everyone who is even a semi-regular here knows if you find even the slightest disagreement with anything you label it left wing meaning IMHO you have no true way to measure anything since your scale is oddly weighted.
