OK, Hell just saw it's first snowfall.

Just one more indication of the contempt held by some of the 0.01% towards the three contenders for the Republican nomination

Charles Koch: 'It's Possible' Hillary Could Be Better Than GOP in White House

Billionaire political donor Charles Koch said Democrat Hillary Clinton may make a better president than any of the Republicans vying for the job and derided the rhetoric of Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.

The chairman and chief executive officer of Koch Industries Inc., in an interview with ABC’s “This Week” broadcast Sunday, also criticized “a tax code that subsidizes the wealthy.” This year’s Republican candidates, now whittled down to Trump, Cruz, and Ohio Governor John Kasich, have failed to win his backing because they aren’t addressing that issue, he said.

The following words really surprised me; Mr Koch is sounding more and more like an Eisenhower Republican after years of advocating libertarian philosophy
“If I controlled the Republican Party, we wouldn’t have a two-tiered system. We wouldn’t have a tax code that subsidizes the wealthy,” Koch said. ‘We have this corporate welfare that benefits established companies and makes it very difficult for somebody to get started.”

Yeah...my jaw sorta hit the floor when I first heard about all this, too - I never saw this coming! Maybe he's starting to realize that when it comes to the economy, Obama's more of an Eisenhower Republican than a far-left liberal wingnut.

It isn't really contempt IMO. I think it's more of who would enact plans that would help to further their own agenda without massive protest.

Seems like liberals would infer that if the Koch's don't like the GOP candidate then maybe its because he wouldn't pursue their agenda.

But apparently Koch thinks Hillary would. Interesting...

Not at all..........its not a matter of "like" with these folks..........It is their belief(IMO) that Trump is a Loose Cannon and is more of the threat to their interest...........they are willing to give up 4 years of HRC than see to Trump win..........

And expect GOP to give Trump token support and focus their assets at protecting the down-ballot GOP members in Congress because if they lose Congress they will be looking for that paddle........If ya catch my drift

Just as I stated and BTW, they won't lose congress.

And just as those who support Trump think, he's better than the SOS that both parties have been electing.

Hope is gone, its time for a change.

He is basically advocating a libertarian approach to funding the current government. Libertarians have been making that very argument for years. Perhaps you have just been to overwhelmed by your hatred of the Kochs (and libertarians) to actually listen to what they say.

I think what Charle Koch is starting to realize is that unless America starts rebuilding the middle-class, his big corporations won't have the consumer base to draw on any more. Thus, he's starting to hedge that a Hillary presidency which is more of a "big tent" party than what Donald Trump could ever dream of having at this point is better for the national economy than Trump or any of the others.

Trump is being cast aside by donors.

Cruz is shunned by his own party.

Kasick wouldn't be respected if he did win the party's nomination.

On the Democrat side, love him or hate him but Sanders' arguments (despite the ideology behind them) are resonating with the younger crowds who WILL be tomorrow's wage earners AND consumers.

Hate Hillary all you want, but she's very well "connected" to the business community both foreign and domestic.

When you take it all in total, Mr. Koch is simply hedging his bets on whom he believes can best force the issues in Washington that can spur greater economic grow rather than pursue austerity measures while the economy is growing. And if you listen to people in Congress (House leadership, for example), they're starting to sing this same tune.

No surprise to me. Its simple. the Koch brothers want to be on the winning team. Its all about power and influence. The republicans look like they might implode and the Koch brothers want to bet on a winning horse. And it would be easier to buy Hillary than Sanders.

The fun continues

Koch Brothers Consider Purchasing First Democrat

WICHITA (The Borowitz Report)—Charles and David Koch, the billionaire industrialists who have spent decades acquiring a world-class collection of Republicans, revealed over the weekend that they are considering purchasing their first Democrat.

“We’ve always bought Republicans, and our father bought Republicans before us,” Charles, the elder Koch, said. “They’re bred to be obedient, and they respond to simple commands.”

He said that he and his brother had considered acquiring a Democrat only after determining that none of the Republicans on offer this year was worth adding to their collection.

No, this is some kind of satire. right? A 'The Onion' joke, right?

Not that surprising. They know what they are going to get with Hillary. When it comes to fiscal policy Hillary will deal. Trump and Cruz are wild cards to the Kochs.

Hang in there, you got your beliefs even when they aren't supported by reality

Trump puts GOP House majority in jeopardy

Calculating Democrats' Chances of Regaining the Senate

If we see a substantial increase in the president’s job approval, to around 55 percent, Democrats win the Senate around 67 percent of the time, and pick up five seats. At 60 percent job approval, Democrats pick up eight seats, and control the Senate 94 percent of the time (this is different from what I found in 2014 because the model’s parameters have been re-estimated, there have been fewer Republican retirements than I anticipated, and problematic challengers, at least for now, haven’t really emerged).

Finally, we can run the model directly on a variety of job approval ratings, and estimate Democratic gains. This estimates that the president would have to improve his job approval to 46 percent for a Democratic takeover to be realistic, and to 53 percent for it to be more likely than not.

Gallup and Rasmussen presently have the President at 52% approval
