Charges filed against militia members traveling to Kenosha - CNNPolitics

Two members of the 417 Second Amendment Militia group from Missouri traveling to Kenosha, Wisconsin, were arrested Thursday by federal officials and charged with illegally possessing a cache of weapons...

..Karmo, 40 and Smith, 33, were roommates for a month, worked together and were members of the 417 Second Amendment Militia, a pro-law enforcement group, according to the criminal complaint.

...

FBI agents found in their hotel room an Armory AR-15 rifle, a Mossberg 500 AB 12-Gauge shotgun, two handguns, a silencer, ammunition, body armor, a drone, a twisted cable survival saw, a dagger and other materials, prosecutors said. They each have criminal records and were not authorized to have any firearms of ammunition, prosecutors said.

Comments:

1 Notice that this was a Law Enforcement operation by the federal government. So, anybody who starts conspiracy theories about unjust targeting should voice his whining to Barr

2.The " pro-Law enforcement" group has armed people with criminal records who are not allowed to be armed. In short, we see another example of why there is no such a clear cut distinction between supposedly conservative "pro-law" activists and progressive "anti-law" activists. Both sides have thugs within their ranks who do not really care about the law and are more interested in promoting their political agenda even through illegal means...

I have no reason to doubt the story.

Unfortunately, this kind of response is something I fully expected to see at some level. When you have the leaders of several cities across America that are ordering police to stand down and allowing groups like ANTIFA to riot, loot, destroy public & private property, burn buildings to the ground, assault and in some cases kill police and civilians, don't you think that's an invitation for militia members and far right extremists to take up arms?

As they are criminals, I take it they are Mexican? ;)

Good deal. This walking around at protests with long guns has to stop.

I think that it is certainly not an invitation of militia members to break the law. If they were going to another state while they were lawfully armed , they would not have been arrested. This thing about inviting people to respond as a result of a failed government action to address an issue is valid point. But it works both ways, and when governments fail to reform police practices and hold cops who use excessive force accountable, this also invites citizens to react and demonstrate. And yes, in such situations, as I have posted in another thread, there will be some participants who will break the law. Even Martin Luther King could not prevent some Black your from vandalizing private property during the civil rights marches in the 1960's.

King's Last March | King's Last March | APM Reports

King returned to Memphis a week later to lead a protest march on City Hall. That day, March 28, 1968, turned out to be one of the worst in King's career as a civil rights leader. The marchers paraded down Beale Street, the famed Memphis thoroughfare where musician W.C. Handy pioneered the blues. King was at the head of the column. Then, a number of young African Americans began breaking storefront windows. James Lawson was leading the march with King. When they turned onto Main, Lawson says, they saw "lengths of police in riot gear across the street."

Remembering a violent crackdown by Memphis police during a February protest march, Lawson feared the police would attack again. He recalls telling King, "You must leave. They are going to break up the march and go after you more than anyone."

Arrested by federal officials. Because had they got to kenosha the police might've likely handed them water bottles and thanked them then sent them in to shoot people.

I have no problem with this as long as they treat BLM and Antifa thugs the same.

Honestly by saying antifa is behind everything is mentally lazy and tiresome.

Awesome, more illegal gins off the street. Good work.
