Would it be possible increase the character count limit a little bit? I find it can be an obstacle in some discussions. In addition, would it be possible to see the character count before we post? In the absence of a limit increase, I find myself having to hit the submit button just to know if I've reached the limit. Then I have to go back and snip stuff and try again (often several times).
 
At least in the review option.
 
5,000 characters is more than enough. It prevents literal walls of text. The character limit will remain as it is.
