Chad's leader dies just hours after winning reelection

Not that elections in Chad really ha any other meaning than: government always win.
Idriss Deby has been leader of Chad for over 30 years, but died on the battlefield when he went there to inspect the troups just hours after having been confirmed to have won yet another term in office.

Deby's closest foreign ally was France, and a French military presence in Chad and other countries in the Sahel is keeping many of the governments there in power because constant struggle with various rebels (both Islamists and others).
