Which artist has the best "soul yell?"

Celine Dion at 1:50 on the song "Alone."

or

Faith Hill at 2:42 on the song "There You'll Be."

Celine always.

But how about 2:40 all the way to the end in this song by Vanessa Amorosi?

Celine Dion looks very sick.
No disrespect intended but she is as emancipated as my father shortly before he died of cancer.D328F61B-236E-4BB4-A426-5539811090D5.jpeg10529758-301B-4541-A6CA-D9F30D782E5C.jpeg

Not sure exactly what we’re looking for here but…

How could you talk about female soul artists without mentioning Aretha??

Faith Hill is good, yes but she is no soul singer.

The OP is concerning a "soul yell", which is a big high note but not as an intelligible word. I've placed the time marks, above the videos, to designate where the singers let go.

Celine Dion at the time - 1:50 on the song "Alone."

and

Faith Hill at the time 2:42 on the song "There You'll Be."

Celine will always trump Faith Hill.

Samatha Fish deserves an honorable mention…

I love Faith.. adore her. But I doubt I would have made the drive from LA to Vegas twelve times to watch her show.
Celine is probably as unattractive as Barbra Streisand but she (Celine) stepped in for her (Barbara) at the right time. I love her more.

BTW... in the Faith song it is a over-dub recording
