Yeah, well, it's like saying no one should care what happens with the NCAA basketball tournament. Or the Super Bowl. Or any other sporting event since there is ALWAYS something going on more important than people playing a game. They shouldn't care about movies or TV shows or their golf game or how many fish they caught, whether they killed a buck last year, etc......... And yet those things and others do matter to nearly all of us.
Valid points.

News is news......and leading stories should be "new". Not much new happened in Ukraine overnight. I think more important is what proportion of prime time news time did the slap consume vs Ukraine.

OMG. Seems Newsmax, OAN and FoxNews were hacked by CBS. They all carried the story of the "slap"

PS. seems all the major networks have updates on Ukraine.
But not the top story.

If this was normal America, no one would give two shits what happened at the Oscars.
There are more pressing issues in the world right now we should be concerned about.
They had the Oscars? Who would have guessed?

Lately I've been turning on the morning shows to see if anything of note happened with Ukraine while I slept. This morning I turned on CBS and they led with Chris Rock being slapped at the Oscars deciding that was more important, more news worthy than the war in Ukraine. Guess I'm back to my boycott of these worthless network so called news programs.

Celebrity behavior has long been considered to be newsworthy - even if it just normal (like a wedding or divorce).

.......and it really was quite the moment!!!! The look on Will Smith's wifes face when duma$$ made that insensitive "joke" was heartbreaking. Her struggle with alopecia has been very emotional for her.

Yeah, please go back to where ever you get your 'news'.

One morning a slap by a super star toward another takes the headline. However, CBS quickly turned to the war.

You seem to be really reaching to use this as a complaint... ✌️

and...............
What shocking new event happened in Ukraine last night (3/27).?
What makes the Ukraine continued war be the leading story?

Shouldn't Trump's Georgia event have been the lead story on the day it happened?:giggle:
Anything war related is a thousand times more important than the slap. Goes to show you who the audience for these fake news programs are.

If you're concerned about people talking about a TV awards show scuffle instead of the war, why are you starting a thread about a TV awards show scuffle when you could be using that time to talk about the war?

Should it lead the daily news coverage when we are on the brink of WW3?

Will was laughing wholeheartedly right after Rock delivered the punchline
Then the wife gave him dagger eyes, and he jumped up
What a hypocritical moron

The craziest thing about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock is that for the past 7 years the US and UK have backed a war against Yemen that killed 400,000 civilians and starved 17 million more.

People simply love scandalous stories about Hollywood celebrities.
It takes their minds off of stories that can lead to nuclear annihilation.
