(CNN)While incidences of Covid spike across the country, the Supreme Court is once again considering arguments from houses of worship that say pandemic-related restrictions are violating their religious freedom rights.
The two latest cases arise out of New York as a Roman Catholic Diocese in Brooklyn and a group of Orthodox synagogues are challenging Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo's executive order limiting in-person attendance at houses of worship to 10 or 25 people in geographic "red" and "orange" zones.

I say if they want to spread the virus in houses of worship that is fine with me. They just need to agree that they will not be admitted to any hospital for Covid 19 infections. We do not have the space for those that willfully contract it. They can let God sort it out. Don't they believe that God will protect them?

Asshole Andy has no problem with no limits of COVID sufferers in nursing homes, but is concerned about capacity numbers of houses of worship.

Idiots...they have every right to be stupid...

actually the lawsuit is correct. gov bigot can't discriminate between public and churches.

if he allows protests and restaurants to have 50% capacity then he must allow churches to follow the dame guidelines.

yet here it is mayor of ny discriminating.
you guys hate that right?

They have no problem with Walmart , Costco and other big chains remaing open while small businesses and places of worship remain closed? The public is being played.

Church services have proven to be very dangerous. There are dozens of cases like this one.

Among 92 attendees at a rural Arkansas church during March 6–11, 35 (38%) developed laboratory-confirmed COVID-19, and three persons died. Highest attack rates were in persons aged 19–64 years (59%) and ≥65 years (50%). An additional 26 cases linked to the church occurred in the community, including one death.

Yes. that can happen but anyone who comes in contact with others shares some risk. We all have a choice as adults There have been many thousands of other cases but doubt there are similar stats for Walmart etal. Once we relinquish ordinary freedoms it will be tough to get them back.

That would be an argument for lifting all the restrictions. The religious groups are only arguing for the restrictions to be lifted from them.

Like that idiot bishop? "God is larger than this dreaded virus". Then he died, but not before he infected his family and goodness knows how many of his congregation. Where's his 'god' now? I can hear the idiotic 'it was 'god's' will' excuses even now. 'God' was right about sending plagues; religion is one of them.

You are gaining the freedom of life by not contracting the virus and giving it to others by choosing not to spread it. Surely people can worship online until we are all vaccinated.

And all restrictions should be lifted. Science is not being followed.

If those people want to gather together as a group they are entitled to their first amendment rights and, as you've seen, some politicians are trying to have them ignored.

As long as they realize they also have to ask God for help when they get sick from the coronavirus. It is not fair that they will take up space in the ICU's that could be used for people who got the virus without being irresponsible and reckless. Behaviors have consequences.

People are becoming ill from a variety of sources ad the science is often contradictory. Seems that you argument is based more on religion than science or you wouldn't have mentioned God.

Testing positive for covid pneumonia is pretty damn straight forward. I have no idea what is "contradictory" about that. When church goers show up with it at the ER they need to be turned away. Survival of the fittest applies here.

The Catholic and Orthodox Jews thinking that they should be above the law ... who would have thought it the two most racist supremist organisations on the planet think the rules should not apply to them

several of my friends are Jewish and they call the Orthodox Jews as racists that do harm to the Jewish cause

They are in a sure-fired hurry to meet their maker.

I said the science is contradictory. Various prevention techniques have been tried and then contradicted a while later. More important than Covid right now is protecting the US Constitution or the Reset will eat you up.

Does the law follow the Constitution? If the answer is No then it means dick.

But they do not have the right to crowd out others in hospitals who are sick with covid through no fault of their own. Let them pray it away.
Trump sent a medical ship to NYC and it went unused.

Then send the church goers there...
The entire country will need hospital ships soon. The virus is in control while the one term mistake sulks and takes even more revenge on the American people he hates. How could anyone vote for that demon?
