ROCK ON!! Great website man.
So when's the band going on tour so I can check it out live??

Well, we are a cover band and that typically means that we are more or less weekend warriors. We do put some miles on the old bus but other than regional performances we don't really "tour" so to speak. We got real jobs, families, etc....

But if you are in the Wisconsin, IL, IA area there is a good chance we will be in your neck of the woods one of these days. We just got picked up by a regional agency and they do have some Vegas and Cruise Ship in the works for us. But that is yet to be seen. I am not holding my breath.

But I gotta say, this band is very exciting and entertaining and we seem to have expolded in the market around here. We are sitting on the top of the hill, for a cover band, around these parts. But that comes and goes. Been there, done that already. But I am enjoying it none the less.

Very cool -- let us know when we can buy a CD

We're actually in the studio now. Since we are just covering other's music, we will not be selling them. Instead, we will publish it on our website for free downloads.

Cruise ship gigs are a bit overrated if someone in your band suffers from seasickness. Our lead player does, and we found out the hard way. What makes this hilarious is that our lead player is a navy vet. Go figure. LOL.

I too, am a Navy Vet. No one is immune to sea sickness given the right time and place. My Master Chief was an old salt and I seen him even get seasick once. I got seasick working on an offshore oil rig once. I would get sick when I went below on a small boy (transport boat.)

Honestly I have no interested in the Cruiseliner gig. But I'm hoping the 2 week Vegas thingy comes through. We might do some Germany, Poland, and England stuff too the way they been talking. Only for a week ata time though. Mostly, we just do one-offs and a two-nighter here or there.

Dude, you need more Pink Floyd songs in your set.

No doubt....If it were up to me, we'd do Pink Floyd 24/7.

I just got this weeks assignment:
Finish up Rosanna and learn Bohemian Rhapsody.....fun fun...

Cool:) If you are looking at Europe, shoot for one of the Holland-Germany circuits. They are the most fun. But if you get the gig, do NOT go to see any of the local blues acts in Amsterdam, unless you want a good laugh. They dont have a clue as to what blues is.

Those are typically between 3 and 8 week gigs though.

Do you play guitar or bass?

David Gilmour is a guitar god.

Both.

Acoustic guitar at home and at campfires and an acoustic low-dough job now and again. I do bass on stage.

I was in a PF tribute band for 9 years. I agree about Gilmour (PBUH).

My personal email is pinkfloydfreak@*************** if that gives you any idea what I think about Floyd.

You have met a brother here.

My motto: If it's pink, it's got to be good. :rofl

PS...know anybody looking for a like new Guild D-50 Guild with a Fishman pick-up factory installed? I got one I'm willing to make a helluva deal on. I'm thinkin' eBay. It's worth about a grand at least. I might let it go for less. I dunno..... My Florida Room looks like a music store. I really need to liquidate some of these instruments. What I call collecting my wife calls hoarding. I also have an Alvarez 12 I might be willing to make a deal on too.

Pink Floyd just comes from that special place that seems to transcend music genres and time itself. They are easily in my top 10 of favorite bands.

I also have a heavy edge to me as well. Metallica is another of my favorite bands. Kirk Hammet is a guitar god just as Gilmour is IMO.

Your opinion on their music?

My opinion? well, technically, music is basically sounds that please the ear and comes in all shapes, forms and sizes. But to answer the best I can, what pleases my ear is all over the board.

My favorite three bands:
1. Pink Floyd
2. Pink Floyd
3. Pink Floyd
......................in that order

I dig most of the stuff we (Category X) do too. Not on the Floyd level, of course, but it pleases my ear. Some more than others.

Check it out: http://www.categoryx.net/songlist_nofla.htm

Acoustic favorites:
Neil Young, John Prine, Jimmy Buffett, CSN&Y, to name a few....

Sheeesh, I could go on and on.......

My favorite Floyd album, at the moment, is Division Bell but if you ask me again in 5 minutes, that might change.

I like doing the more complex music, as you can see in our set list. No Mustang Sally or Brown Eyed Girl from my band.... not again. Been there, done that.

Currently, I am polishing up this weeks assignments which are:
Rosanna - Toto
I Can't Hold Back - Suvivor
Girls Got Rhythm - AC/DC
Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen

The Queen tune is a toughy. That's gonna take a while.

Sounds pretty damn good to me! Great song too, that's one of my favorites from that genre.

Anybody up for some Journey, Category X style?

Have fun with it man, but sadly, you guys are probably too old to make it big, unless you decide to do something very different, I have been there, and done that, but it's still fun is it not?;)

Sorry, I know that sounds awful, but as i said, I have been there, but it's not the end of the world, keep rockin as long as you can, I certainly miss my time at the mic.

I have been away from the scene for a while and am about to get back into it. I understand your personal desire to "make it big". I had that once too. That was the wrong reason to play. I understand you wanted to be as successful as possible. It sounds to me like when you realized you weren't going to make it big, you lost the desire to play. Everyone has had bad gigs playing to an empty room. I'll tell you what. The worst gig I ever played is still better than my best day working for someone else. Do what you love, and love what you do. You can rock as long as you want to. Haven't you seen the "Bowflex" commercial?:rofl

Right on Dee. We have no delusions about that. We're just your average, everyday cover band made up of a bunch of real dudes with real jobs and real families.

But knowing myself like I do, I will probably be doing this until I'm in a walker playing in a polka band down at the VFW for Navy Pride and his friends on Saturday nights.

Beats the hell out of bowling. :rofl

Check this out from last week's show in Sheboygan....
