Captain America said:Well, we are a cover band and that typically means that we are more or less weekend warriors. We do put some miles on the old bus but other than regional performances we don't really "tour" so to speak. We got real jobs, families, etc....
But if you are in the Wisconsin, IL, IA area there is a good chance we will be in your neck of the woods one of these days. We just got picked up by a regional agency and they do have some Vegas and Cruise Ship in the works for us. But that is yet to be seen. I am not holding my breath.
But I gotta say, this band is very exciting and entertaining and we seem to have expolded in the market around here. We are sitting on the top of the hill, for a cover band, around these parts. But that comes and goes. Been there, done that already. But I am enjoying it none the less.
danarhea said:Cruise ship gigs are a bit overrated if someone in your band suffers from seasickness. Our lead player does, and we found out the hard way. What makes this hilarious is that our lead player is a navy vet. Go figure. LOL.
SixStringHero said:Dude, you need more Pink Floyd songs in your set.
Captain America said:I too, am a Navy Vet. No one is immune to sea sickness given the right time and place. My Master Chief was an old salt and I seen him even get seasick once. I got seasick working on an offshore oil rig once. I would get sick when I went below on a small boy (transport boat.)
Honestly I have no interested in the Cruiseliner gig. But I'm hoping the 2 week Vegas thingy comes through. We might do some Germany, Poland, and England stuff too the way they been talking. Only for a week ata time though. Mostly, we just do one-offs and a two-nighter here or there.
Captain America said:No doubt....If it were up to me, we'd do Pink Floyd 24/7.
I just got this weeks assignment:
Finish up Rosanna and learn Bohemian Rhapsody.....fun fun...
SixStringHero said:Do you play guitar or bass?
David Gilmour is a guitar god.

Is that the Domino's Noid on your webpage?
Floyd Rules!!!
Captain America said:Both.
Acoustic guitar at home and at campfires and an acoustic low-dough job now and again. I do bass on stage.
I was in a PF tribute band for 9 years. I agree about Gilmour (PBUH).
My personal email is pinkfloydfreak@*************** if that gives you any idea what I think about Floyd.
You have met a brother here.
My motto: If it's pink, it's got to be good. :rofl
PS...know anybody looking for a like new Guild D-50 Guild with a Fishman pick-up factory installed? I got one I'm willing to make a helluva deal on. I'm thinkin' eBay. It's worth about a grand at least. I might let it go for less. I dunno..... My Florida Room looks like a music store. I really need to liquidate some of these instruments. What I call collecting my wife calls hoarding. I also have an Alvarez 12 I might be willing to make a deal on too.
Deegan said:Have fun with it man, but sadly, you guys are probably too old to make it big, unless you decide to do something very different, I have been there, and done that, but it's still fun is it not?![]()
Sorry, I know that sounds awful, but as i said, I have been there, but it's not the end of the world, keep rockin as long as you can, I certainly miss my time at the mic.
independent_thinker2002 said:I have been away from the scene for a while and am about to get back into it. I understand your personal desire to "make it big". I had that once too. That was the wrong reason to play. I understand you wanted to be as successful as possible. It sounds to me like when you realized you weren't going to make it big, you lost the desire to play. Everyone has had bad gigs playing to an empty room. I'll tell you what. The worst gig I ever played is still better than my best day working for someone else. Do what you love, and love what you do. You can rock as long as you want to. Haven't you seen the "Bowflex" commercial?:rofl
Deegan said:I think that is what I just said, lol!:2wave:
