A coalition of cities is currently suing the Trump administration over its deliberate actions to undermine and harm the ACA (not to mention those people who need it).

Their complaint is fascinating for the extended cataloging it does of executive actions taken to depress marketplace enrollment, drive up premiums, and increase uninsurance. They spend ~150 pages describing in detail each of these actions and its impacts on their municipalities but the list they've put together is below.

(Mind you, this is just executive actions taken in the past two years, it doesn't include any sabotage conducted by the GOP Congress since 2011.)

  • Eliminating Protections that the ACA Guarantees
    1. Permitting Exchanges to Strip Individuals of Eligibility for Tax Credits Without Providing Direct Notification
    2. Outsourcing to States the Compliance Review of Insurance Plans to be Offered on Federal Exchanges
    3. Reducing Oversight of Insurance Brokers Participating in Direct Enrollment
  • Deterring Americans from Enrolling in Quality Health Insurance Plans
    1. Making It Harder to Compare Insurance Plans
    2. Undermining the Navigator Program
    3. Making Small Business Exchanges Less User-Friendly
    4. Imposing Unnecessary Income Verification Requirements
  • Driving Up Costs
    1. Curtailing Review of Insurance Rate Increases
    2. Reducing Rebates for Poor Insurer Performance
  • Directing Agencies to Sabotage the Act
  • Attempting to Destabilize the Exchanges
    1. Promoting Bare-Bones Plans to Try to Weaken ACA Exchanges
    2. Undermining the Individual Mandate
    3. Refusing to Grant State Waiver Requests that Would Further the ACA’s Goals
    4. Enabling and Encouraging States to Seek Waivers that Would Undercut the ACA’s Goals .
    5. Attempting to Weaken Public Confidence in ACA Exchanges
  • Working to Decrease Enrollment
    1. Shortening Open Enrollment
    2. Cutting Funding for Advertising and Refusing to Publicize Open Enrollment
    3. Cutting Funding for Navigators and Encouraging Them to Undermine the Act
    4. Failing to Set Numeric Enrollment Targets for 2018 and 2019
    5. Refusing to Participate in Enrollment Events and Other Outreach
  • Arbitrarily Driving Up Premiums
  • Refusing to Defend the Act

That's a strong list!

Just think, if McCain hadn't lied to his voters and if he hadn't sabotaged the Obamacare repeal, these cities wouldn't need to sue Trump.

So it goes...

He didn't lie. He was sabotaged.

He did lie. His bill would've stripped coverage from millions and jacked up premiums on millions more. It didn't "take care of" anybody and it certainly didn't entail the government paying (via "deals with existing hospitals") to get everyone the care they need. It was garbage.

Trump didn't lie.
That is one wild interpretation.

The guy lies every minute of the day. You can't find a bigger liar anywhere.

The idea taht someone would say Trump doesn't lie is ludicrous.

Red hats, you can't live with them, you can't get rid of them.

What a dilemma.

By whom? Are you implying trump wanted health care for all and the democrats stopped it? Like I mentioned to you earlier, your posts are insane. Even watching trump say it himself you guys deny what we can all watch and hear him saying. That's just crazy.

Which one of these Trump statements is true:

Trump just says crap. He's a con man.

Trump supporters are so detached from reality they can watch trump saying this stuff and then turn around and either say he didn't say it or and even better yet, they are going to tell you what he meant. It's like looking up at the sky and trump saying it's blue. Then we'll get the deluge of trump supporters telling us what he actually meant when we can all see the sky is blue. Delusional in their defense of this president.

Didn't bother to watch the video.

Did he say that premiums would drop by $2500/year?

Did he actually write a bill and present it?

In fairness, he is delivering on the GOP’s years-long implicit promise of driving up premiums and stripping people of coverage.

Is he stripping them of coverage or allowing them to abandon the coverage of their own free will?

Typical deliberate Trump hating nonsense.

I didn't say "Trump doesn't lie". I said he didn't lie about a specific claim by a forum member about a specific subject.

More typical deliberate Trump hating nonsense...just a bit different this time.

I made no such implication.

No, he said he’s going to cover everyone in the country at much lower costs.

Yet for some reason, you remain obsessed with a campaign proposal from Obama that didn’t get passed by Congress.

No it wouldn’t, no one would’ve been stripped of coverage, millions would opt not to buy coverage and in fact this is what’s happening. You liberals always love to “run to the gun” to enforce your wishes, guess what millions don’t wish to buy Obamacare. Deal with it, this is a voluntary choice

The bill he demanded Congress pass was called H.R. 1628 in the last Congress. Look it up. It was garbage.

So, then, there was A bill, not HIS bill.

Just wondering.

Thank you for the clarification.

You have this covered. Trump can't write, so it can never be his bill. Likewise, the SOTU won't be his so all of the lies in it won't be his.

It's easy to support trump! Trump is simply not responsible for anything.

Sure he is.

More Americans employed right now than at any point in history.

Highest average wage rate for Americans in history.

Increase in personal wealth for Americans by about 9 Trillion Dollars.

Reduction of the pages of Federal Regulation by about 35 thousand pages.

Tax cut that increased my personal take-home by about 20% while increasing the revenue for the Feds.

Increasing the number of manufacturing jobs: Obama said this was impossible and that anyone would need a magic wand to get this done.

How's your 401K doing?
