Social distancing and other pandemic-related curbs have put pressure on the restaurant industry, pushing companies like CEC Entertainment, the parent of once-popular children-themed restaurant chain Chuck E. Cheese, and California Pizza Kitchen to file for bankruptcies.

Ouch. I ate in RT a few times when I was in the East Coast. Chuck E Cheese I didnt care for too much since its a kiddie restaurant but losing CPK is a huge blow, ugh.

IIRC a big draw for RT was their salad bar.... Any restaurant with a salad bar or buffet are now doomed.. Golden Corral is in trouble too..

their salad bar is among the best. i hope that they make it through the pandemic. unfortunately, indoor dining is going to be problematic for a while, as you can't eat and wear a mask, and social distancing means running at a fraction of capacity.

at work, they have been experimenting with having an employee behind the salad bar dishing it out. that's probably the way that it's going to have to be for a while.

Me and the missus were on a cruise years ago; there was an outbreak of norovirus. The kitchen/wait staff manned all the meals that were buffet style. The CW said that it was caused by lax standards among the passengers. Kinda like a microcosm of the country in these times.......

Gosh, I'm sorry to hear about this. I should have seen it coming, though.

What a rotten time we live in.

Excuse me. What a rotten time in which we live. :)

Ours closed a few years ago. I never especially liked it. Never understood why it closed though as it is almost impossible to not make money at a chain restaurant in my city. We were featured in some industry magazine 6 or 7 years ago about that. Usually if one closes it was profitable but others in the region were not so they close all of them for logistical efficiency instead of having to send a truck out of the way to just 1 location.
