Smart move by Carney. Let's spend our money on kit from allies.

Not just smart, but compellingly-necessary.

No one can count on the USA anymore. We are untrustworthy, not just for the near future, but for all time, because trump and his Republican Party have set the precedent that pandering to the nations inimical to our interests is not only alright, it's what the USA should do. That abandoning - and seeking to damage - longtime allies and friends is acceptable, even "smart".

No country can count on us.

The problem with US military technology is that at any point in the future America may suddenly cut off support.

Britain has been ally since 1763, and France since 1534. We're solid.

Do you have to give countries a free ride to be trustworthy? Trump refuses to be a doormat. There's such a thing as mutual respect and everyone carrying their own weight.

Absolutely true. Trump AND his political party (with their voters) have made the USA unreliable, even adversarial.

At any time we can turn on a dime and sell out our staunchest allies and voters.

That's not what is being done.

Trump is selling out our staunchest friends and allies. That you go along with this comes as no surprise.

Btw, trump "respects" only bullies and thugs such as putin. That you go along with this also comes as no surprise.

How can those trump supporters not see the destruction trump is bringing to this great country.

I for one want him gone!
They don't want to see it, so.....they don't. Denial has to be very, very strong, when one is a member of a cult of personality.

Trumped signed the USMCA. He called it “the fairest, most balanced, and beneficial trade agreement we have ever signed into law.”

Nations that do not honor their agreements are not trustworthy.

America has shamed herself.

If you want to lead you need the respect of those you lead.

Trump: Do as I ****ing tell you or I will **** you up! How's that for a little 'mutual respect' among friends?

Seems kind of weird that I think I see a whole lot of posts around this Community that have cool writings about mainland China and their leader.

Nobody recognizes the "Do as I order, or else!" style of that nation's leader(s)?

By the way, any of you "experts" ever considered running for that job as POTUS?

China is not threatening Canada's sovereignty.

Your word has to be reliable. Canada and the US had a free-trade agreement, signed by both nations, that Trump tore up and applied tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminium.
Trump negotiated another agreement, bragged about dictating the terms, and now has torn that up too and applied more tariffs.
An 'agreement' with America isn't worth a pinch of coon shit.

There's such a thing as being an untrustworthy asshole. Trump himself signed the USMCA. Said he as much as wrote it. Now flushed it down the shitter.
The world is watching. The USA can't be trusted to keep their word. The rest of us will find ways to work around you.
