I found this video interesting. Maybe you will as well.

Who's correct, or are both correct, or are both wrong?

A pointless argument, capitalism is superior and won out long ago. I'm shocked a business show would even waste their time with this. What are they, an online discussion board?

That aside, the democrats are not moving towards socialism. They were far more liberal decades ago and weren't socialist then either.

In action, Bernie was a New Deal Coalition kind of guy, which was good but sadly didn't convince enough people.

I think the Bernie Supporter is right in that Clinton is merely giving lip service to the Bernie programs in order to lure dissenting Democrats to vote for her in the upcoming election.

Trying to listen to the rest didn't give me any new information on the "Capitalism v. Socialism," argument. I remain a strong "Enlightened Capitalism" supporter.

Of course once the debate broke down to each talking over the other....I lost interest.

both are inferior to communism

At what point should the government be entitled to take 50% (or more) of anyone's income? When folks making $250K for simply talking, for an hour or so, try to assert that income inequality is bad then I really cannot take them seriously. When the assertion that a full time minimum wage job, i.e. 40 hours/week of unskilled labor, is really "worth" over half of the current US median household income then the conversation is definitely over.

The thing is, pure socialism and pure capitalism are disasters.

It's about balance people.

BALANCE.

That's all, in an attempt not to make a equal society, because that's impossible, but to make an equitable society.

There are things, I believe, that should remain in the hands of the people, Healthcare for example, it's not about socialism or not socialism just because the government has anything to do with it.

We the people, simply use our combined resources to create an institution that benefits society on the whole, using the government as a middle man.

That's not any form of pure socialism or a soul crushing handout that destroys businesses and the economy or entrepreneurial drive.

Whereas the very predatory form of capitalism in the form of Americas healthcare system destroys the economy by making family after family after taxpaying citizen completely bankrupt and destitute and in some cases disabled because they cannot pay for full treatments.

Fox news is stupid and they lie.

Oh look, the guy CLAIMING to be about not being political uses his views to abuse the Conservative right in the false claim of not being political. What a joke. You're so far left Bernie is mocking you.

Made no mention of not being political.

And I made no mention of Conservative or liberals, but some of the American Conservative misconceptions I've heard over the years about our healthcare system are addressed in there sure... But you seem to be punching smoke there bud.

Very in-depth argument.

First thing the Fox interviewer says is that Sanders has managed to drag the Democrats into socialism. After an idiotic and outrageously over the top statement like that, there's nothing else to say.

The facts tend to do that. However, the truth of the matter is that the Democrats have been Socialist for a long time before Sanders. He just shed a bright light on the facts and wanted to expand Socialism even furhter.

Well, since you believe that the Democrats are socialist, then indeed, Fox News is the place for you. The rest of us in the free world will continue to live in reality.

I don't watch Fox News, the video is from Fox Business Channel (like the difference between MSNBC and CNBC) which I also do not watch, and I saw the video on LiveLeak and then picked it up to put here from YouTube.

You've made a number of wrong assumptions and outright inaccurate statements in this thread alone, so that your posts are so full of inaccuracies that I would suggest you double check your facts before posting.

Even the recent DNC Chairman had to do a two step to not admit that the Democrats and Socialists are the same thing:

And... still couldn't do it later on in another interview:

Why is that? Because, there is no relevant difference. The Democrats are the party of Progressive Socialism.

Everyone is socialist to some extent.

Caveat - apart from some strange utopian Libertarians.

Only part I found interesting were the funny parts...like when he said "this is a financial program".

And what is wrong with that expansion? Do you have a problem with k-12 public education? If not why is adding on a couple of years to that such a leap?

Fox is Fox dude. If you go to Disney Land, you're going to get "Disney".

The Idea that Sanders has turned the Democrats into socialist is idiotic.

If Sanders had his way he would implement Single Payer, use the power of the Federal Govt to empower Unions and Co-ops, increase taxes on the " Rich " and Corporations and increase Govt spending exponentially

Nationalizing 1/6 of our economy via Medicare for all in the interest of " fairness " isn't exactly Socialism light and the rest of his initiatives would just finish off whats left of a already weak US economy

You just absolutely ignored what I said and just started typing, didn't you?

I gave your ridiculous comments the respect they were due.

I tell you what, other than your posts I was trying to have a respectful conversation. If you continue to choose differently, then please leave me out of it from now on.
