Canada to recognize Palestinian State

How do YOU think this mess should be resolved?? Is staring a country and watching the population die a horrific slow death to your liking ???

Has NOTHING to do with anti semitism...or any other prejudicial factor. It has EVRYTHING to Do with CIVILIED HUMANITY..........and being humane.Just because the HAMAS TERORSTS are unprincipled............ NO ONE has to lower to that level. Hamas and Palestine should not be considered as the same entity.
 

You're repeating the same failed shtick over and over again and hoping that it somehow works. I admire your optimism--Israel has that, too!

Pointing out facts isn't antisemitic. The Democratic Party has - had? - a history of being supported by many Jewish voters, so....alienating them was always something Democrats tried/try to avoid. (Biden didn't do anything substantial in trying to dissuade Netanyahu from torturing and slaughtering Gazan Palestinians or to try to stop the theft of Palestinian land in the West Bank.)

Good for Canada for this effort. I know, it's only symbolic at this point, and I am also aware that trump is currently threatening Carney re the government's stance, and Carney might figure he has to cave....

But I do support the Palestinians in Gaza who are being systematically tortured and slaughtered by the Netanyahu Government.

AND there's this, which our anti-Palestinian posters don't seem to have considered: the longstanding strategy of trying to bomb and blockade Hamas into submission HAS NOT BEEN WORKING. It's been shown, for nearly 2 decades, that Hamas manages to maintain its grip on Gaza despite Israel's periodic mowings of the lawn, despite the Israeli-imposed and -enforced land, air, and sea blockade. And, most recently, despite 22 months of intensive attacks on Gaza, on Hamas, and on Palestinians by the modern military state of Israel.

That suggests (to say the least) that keeping Israelis safe is NOT being accomplished. That Israelis are still as vulnerable as ever to attacks from the terrorist group. It looks as if that's not going to change.
 
Unfortunately, it's all too clear that some posters - regardless of political persuasion - are all too ready to endorse starving Palestinians to death.

Tell the Palestinians that they will not get their own state until they agree to peacefully accept Israel as a Jewish state.

No "bait and switch" on my part.

The Israeli Government's policy of depriving captive Palestinians of adequate food and potable water has resulted in deaths. And Netanyahu et al appear ready to continue starving these people (and depriving them of potable water). These are war crimes, and, if this long-term policy hasn't already pushed the genocide button, it will do so in the near future.

I'm sorry to see any posters here endorse torturing and slaughtering human beings. Doing so in this manner - killing them via malnutrition and/or thirst - is particularly grisly.

Indeed. Seems that the tragedy is that politics can over rule basic HUMANITARIAN PRINCIPLES. The terror act was a major crime. Starving people as a weapon of war is a CRIME. Both are INHUMANE. When humanity is lost and other politicall motives come into plae...............the situation becomes intendable.
Two WRONGS do NOT make a RIGHT. It never has . The focus should be on Humanitarian conduct and shutting down this war and its' atrocities ASAP. Unfortunately........ it seems that it is easier and more expedient to just play the blame game and keep fighting.

Bottom line: WHO is actually BENEFITTING from this "war"???? Humanity is not.

The State of Israel is a nuclear-armed country with an estimated stockpile of 200 nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them precisely from land, sea and air. Their only force multipliers are fanaticism and a willingness to use suicidal tactics. The Palestinian militant mice are not an existential threat to the leonine State of Israel and never have been. In case people have forgotten the State of Israel, as the Military Occupying Power, has responsibilities to protect the civilians under its military control. That precludes them from starving and ethnically cleansing civilians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. But that Hasn't stopped the State of Israel since June of 1967, has it?
