Can the states dissolve the United States of America

Amendment XXVIII:
Upon ratification, all articles of the Constitution of the United States, as amended, shall be null and void

Sure.

It already happened once. We fixed it, though.

No, they can't. But, I certainly would support an amendment that would provide for a way for States to leave the Union if they wanted to (Not like the fictional one you have provided in the OP, though). The details of that amendment would need to be carefully considered, but there should be a provision that provides a path.

It did?
How was it "fixed"?
And how would an amendment, such as the example provided, not allow for such a thing?

How would the amendment in the example not dissolve the union?
How are the states prohibited from passing such an amendment?

Yep sure did. Ask Jefferson Davis, he knows about it.

The Civil War was a small scale of what could, theoretically, happen. If every single state secedes from the Union, there's no Union anymore.

We're not talking about secession, we're talking about an amendment that nullifies the Constitution.

That wouldn't be the only way to dissolve the Union.

The question is, "Can the States dissolve the union?" Every state seceding would dissolve the union, wouldn't it? So, theoretically, yes, they could.
