Look at how large some of the truck campers out there are getting. Looks like a goddamn TARDIS -- bigger on the inside than on the outside. o_O

Slide-outs have changed the world of truck campers. Look at what you can fit in a truck box.

They always look top heavy to me, but I'm sure some of that is illusion. They're a lot of empty space up top.

I suppose those have an advantage in being able to set them up on the campsite and drive out from under them. Unlike Class A, B, and C motorhomes where as soon as you set up, there is liable to be a catastrophe. "Shit! I forgot hamburger buns!" "Oh no! We're out of paper plates." "Surely I didn't drink all the margaritas the first night?"

So it's unhook all the utilities, come down off leveling jacks, retract awnings and slides, secure for travel and go to Walmart or wherever in order to park in the far reaches of the lot and take a three mile round trip hike to get a package of marshmallows or whatever. (Unless you towed another vehicle with you or drove two vehicles to the campsite.)
