California's Leftist Lunacy May Free Child Killer to Kill Again

Shortly after 8 year old Madyson Middleton's body was found in a recycling dumpster at the Tannery Arts Center, A.J. Gonzalez 17, made a confession including statements that the attack lasted a half hour.

A.J. Gonzalez is accused of luring Madyson with ice cream, attacking and choking her from behind before attacking her. Madyson died of positional asphyxiation after she was placed in a kitchen trash can. She was breathing when she was raped, according to testimony.

Sexual Assault Response Team Coordinator Sheree Goldman, who also testified Tuesday, was part of a team that examined Madyson’s body in July 2015. Goldman cried when she recalled the examination. “When I approached her (body), I spoke to her. I said I was sorry this happened to her,” Goldman said. “She was beautiful. She had long, dark eyelashes.”

If prosecuted as a minor, Gonzalez would likely be freed when he turns 23 years old.

The case is the first of its kind for Santa Cruz County because of recent changes in state law.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - It's been almost two years since Nolen Buchanan of Benicia, California first appeared in a Placerville courtroom as a 16-year-old, charged with the killing of his family in their El Dorado County vacation home and then setting it on fire.

The charred remains of Buchanan's father Adam, 38, his father's fiancée Molly McAffe, 37, and his 8-year-old brother, Gavin, were found in that Greenville cabin on September 13, 2015.

Since that time, Nolen has been in the Juvenile Treatment Center (JTC) in South Lake Tahoe.

The journey has been a long one to this point, and one that moved through uncharted territory due to the passage of Proposition 57 in November 2016. The ballot measure was approved by voters and changed juvenile law in California, giving judges sole power to grant or deny prosecutors’ requests to remove a youth from juvenile court to be tried as an adult in the criminal system..........

..........During this time his fate was being heard in Judge Suzanne Kingsbury's court. She read the Grand Jury report, heard from prosecutors, Nolen's defense attorney Lori London, family members, JTC personnel and others involved, all in a confidential juvenile court setting with Nolen present.

After months of court proceedings, Kingsbury made the decision to move Nolen's case out of the juvenile system and try him in a court of law as an adult.........

We need the courts to distinguish between minors who can be rehabilitated, and those like AJ Gonzalez who are predators. Sentencing a convicted child rapist/killer to serve only 5 years in prison is a gross insult to the murdered child. She died a horrific death. Her killer should not be freed in 5 years simply because he's a few months away from his 18th birthday.
