A Green Republican? Who would have thunk it, but that is what Arnold Schwartzeneggar is, and he is going up against Bush and Beltway Republicans to take a leadership role in the issue of global warming. Not only has he accused fellow Republicans of shirking the issue, but took it upon himself to sign an agreement with Tony Blair, an agreement between the UK and California, which will result in a drastic reduction of greenhouse gasses. Democrats have their own bill too, but the differences are at this time being hammered out. Hmmmm, reaching out to the other side too? Now that is refreshing. I still would rather have seen McClintock become governor of California, but at least Arnold is working hard at the job, and just may accomplish some good things. The president could learn a thing or 2 from him.

Ironically Dan, the traditionalist conservative is quite the conservationist - Example - Teddy Roosevelt, Richard Nixxon (yeah him) - But I have a feeling you already knew that.
Somewhere in the midst I don't care how or when, they got mixed up with the anti-environment crowd.

Arnold has actually forced through many of the issues that neither then democRATS nor republiCONs want on the table, they don't like that he's actually being honest and getting things done his style, not thier style; which is why they got all the dumb unions in Cali crapping all over him.

That is very true. Ironically, the Republicans are also the ones attempting to destroy it.

Californian is an excellent place to try this mini Kyoto. It is far from where I live and the slowdown of its economy will affect me little.
