After all US is a great nation of immigrants. The negative comments which followed are uncalled for.
The California legislature has approved a bill allowing documented immigrants who haven't yet achieved U.S. citizenship to serve on state juries.
It's part of an effort to expand immigrant rights and responsibilities in the nation's most populous state. Another measure awaiting Gov. Jerry Brown's signature would let immigrants who are permanent residents serve as poll workers in California elections.
"Immigrants "are part of the fabric of our community," said Assemblyman Bob Wieckowski, D-Fremont. "They benefit from the protections of our laws, so it is fair and just that they be asked to share in the obligation to do jury duty."

Would you be agreeable to having applicants for citizenship in your country judge you in a court of law?

We have US attorneys practicing here and if they are qualified enough why not be among the judiciary.

That wasn't the question asked...

If they are among the judiciary they pass judgement and we are okay with that.

That's not what this law is proposing. There are many here legally who cannot even understand English...

Considering that most juries today are merely rubber stamps for government inquests and witch hunts, maybe this will be a good thing. Hope so. As California goes, so goes the nation.

I do not think non-citizens should serve on juries.

I move that we cede California to Mexico, assuming that wouldn't be construed as an act of war. Anybody member when California was considered a desirable place to relocate for people not seeking Public Assistance?

Illegals should also be court appointed attorneys.
