U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) has joined the Republicans and 13 other Democrats in voting for the proposed constitutional amendment that would authorize Congress to ban flag burning. However, the U.S. Senate rejected it on Tuesday by a 66-34 vote, which is one vote shy of the two-thirds majority required for the proposal to be ratified in the states.
