"But WHY dont you take the Tea Party seriously!?"

Interwebz... introducing people to the law of the jungle.

For the most part Anonymous is just a bunch of juvenile turds contributing nothing to society.

WTF is this thread about?
Essentially, the Oregon Tea Party group used the slogan that Anonymous is famous for and Anonymous did not take kindly to it.

Basically, the teabaggers dipped into the 4chan bag for inspiration.

I know nothing about "Anonymous", but if the Oregon Tea Party is fighting with 4chan, I got to side with the Tea Party. There is nothing more noxious on the web than 4chan.

The problem is Anonymous DOES have a lot of pull on the web (a place Conservatives are not typically comfortable) and some incredibly resourceful troublemakers. The Oregon group is irritating people who make ****ing with other people over the Internet into an art form.

More than that for me it's that the teabaggers (a. Couldn't come up with their own slogan (b. Stole it from Anonymous of all people (c. Are neither anonymous nor are they legion.

You miss my point. I am not a Tea Partier. I don't like the Tea Party. I think the Tea Party are a bunch of simple minded fools. However, when ycomparing them to a bunch of adolescents(at least in action) who think "pranks" and DoS attacks, and making trouble with people is somehow justified, the Tea Party is a paragon of virtue. I read the list of crap that "Anonymous" has pulled, and I seriously hope that we soon develop the tools to catch these idiots and throw them in jail for the **** they do.

..and charge them with what laws?

Oh - so people don't take the Tea Party seriously - because of things like this??? Which most normal people don't even *grasp* the "meaning" of.
I'm sure there are *legitimate* reasons - and this bumper sticker online Anonymous thing isn't one of them.

Tea Party Oregon has been getting seriously flamed all day on Facebook
ZOMG! Facebook wars - how freaking childish.

Seriously - all I can think now is that people who are reacting to this and taking this issue *on* need to grow up - yes, that includes the imps who are faring this fight from the Lib camp.

Is being vulgar really helping the conversation?

As to the topic. These are punk kids. When you go after pedophiles, white supremacists and other low lifes, you look like a hero. If you go after a legitimate group simply because you are upset they used a phrase that means nothing, it's going to end badly for you.

We've dealt with these types in my company for clients. they are not hard to track down when they start crossing lines as they ALWAYS do.

We "catch" them all the time..... when they go after folks like pedophiles and white power types usually no one cares. When they target folks with DoS attacks and what not, thier trail is fairly easy to follow.

They are 4chan babies. They could arrest them in the night, line em up against the wall and shoot them, and my strongest emotion would be that the world was a much better place.

Personally I feel the tea party took a logo that was not theirs to take, and they're going to be dealing with the fallout for the time being.

Thanks for that clarification. I thought maybe I was missing out on something important.

You are talking about people who coordinated to one day post tons of porn on youtube, naming the videos something kid friendly, like Jonas Brothers. They are the kind of people the world could do without.

As much as I dislike the Anonymous and 4chan crowd, I think they serve an important purpose. They remind you that the world is a cruel and uncaring place that will bend you over a table and wale on your ass with a pipe without the slightest hesitation.

I think you give idiots too much credit. I think agnapostate tbreatened dpmwith 4chan idiocy once

Initially, I was VERY excited about the very idea of a grass roots, non-partisan, Tea Party. But it ended up being a sanctuary for too many of the same people that hijacked the GOP and cost them the last election. It sold out to the wingnuts. :( There is nothing in their future but losing, IMO.

And that's a shame. There are some good people really wanting to make a positive change within the initial movement. Now, it's all Palinites, John Whacko and Jane Whacko. Or, at least, those are the ones getting all the attention.
