A June GAO report found that the Obama Administration blew $500 million on green jobs training for jobs that don’t exist.
Stephen Moore had this to say about the report:

“Four or five years ago everyone thought that we were going to have this huge, massive increase in solar energy and wind industry and it just hasn’t happened. In fact, the big growth in jobs, ironically enough, has not been in renewable energy it’s been in the oil and gas industry which has been the industry that has created more jobs. Guess what? Those industries got zero money in terms of job training… By the way, a lot of the money also went to left-wing groups that happened to support Barack Obama. Groups like the National Council of La Raza and other groups that put in a lot of money to get Barack Obama elected in the first place.”

According to a June report much of the training dollars went to far left groups that supported the president.

Thieves and liars funded with tax payer dollars based upon the Obama Fundamental Transformation of America.

The video that you provided just defended Obama. The person speaking made the argument that everybody thought there was going to be a huge growth in solar and other green jobs. Which is true, you can't predict the future. Was Obama supposed to pull out his crystal ball and see that green jobs weren't going to take off like most thought they were. Stop trying to find new "scandals". We know that Obama hasn't been anything close to what he has promised. How about doing something productive and bring about a change, not re-hash the same exact points in new forms.

$500M -- isn't that the amount Bush blew in a week on bogus projects in Baghdad? At least it was spent here.

The problem in my mind was not that he invested in these areas but the way he did. I think that the best investment government can make in these leading fields is to fund basic research, especially at universities and perhaps other research labs. Perhaps the government could earn some royalties if some research breaks through.

The way Obama did it, his team did not advance new technology, just backed a few selected companies.
