IRS Scandal:

IRS official Cindy Thomas, who ran the Cincinnati IRS office that targeted conservative groups, gets a big promotion. Her ex-superior, Lois Lerner, may have broken the law. Some phony scandal.

The liberal-dominated media have for weeks dutifully echoed President Obama's claim that his second term is plagued by "phony" scandals.

But like Benghazi, in which a U.S. ambassador and three other American personnel were needlessly killed by al-Qaida, and the Justice Department scandal, in which the U.S. government spied on reporters, IRS-gate is the furthest thing from phony.

It came to haunt President Bush when during the Hurricane Katrina clean-up he told Federal Emergency Management Agency director Michael Brown, "Brownie, you're doing a heckuva job."
