Bush goes on to say:
(- President Bush portrayed Democrats on Tuesday as the party of big spending and high taxes, aiming to give increasingly endangered Republicans an edge in a midterm election debate dominated recently by congressional scandal and overseas crises.)

It would be extremely difficult if not impossible to find any President who has spent as much as Bush has of American Taxpayer's money and had so little to show for his expenditure.

Comments please!

Agreed. And if he's saying that they'll raise taxes, isn't he implicitly saying that he would sign a tax increase into law?

Bush says democrats would raise taxes.

The sun rises in the east.

Some things almost go without saying.

Hell, why should we raise taxes when we can borrow $1/2 trillion a year and let future taxpayers deal with the cost of our government? Why should we pay for what our government spends?

The pass the buck generation.

Bush Says Democrats Would Raise Taxes

Bush says a lot of things that aren't true. For example:

Things are going well in Iraq.
We are safer today than we were before September 11th.
Saddam Hussein is planning to attack us with nuclear weapons.
Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda have a relationship.
I never saw any intelligence that questioned whether Saddam had WMDs.

Blah blah blah blah

aps,

put some money where your mouth is.

I will bet you 500.00 that if the dems control things after november, and a dem gets in the whitehouse in 08, that taxes are raised within 2 years.

if you think hes lying, you shouldnt have a problem with that little wager.

Bush has raised your taxes too. The only difference is that he's raised your FUTURE taxes through high deficit spending.

Well....well.....ProudAmerican, I don't think I can put my money where my mouth is based upon your wager. I would be willing to bet you that amount if we did it based upon what would happen should the dems take Congress but while Bush is still in office. I believe that Bush's statements relate to the here and now and not years from now. He's worried about dems taking over Congress.

So would you be willing to wager with me based upon my facts???

I hope they raise taxes in 2 months. It is damaging our future to continue running up massive amounts of debt like the Republicans are doing.

SOME people can't see that far into the future.

Ewww.. they are raising taxes! Evil Democrats!

Wait... if the democrats don't raise taxes, and the republicans don't raise taxes... WHO THE **** IS GOING TO PAY OFF OUR DEBT!

Screw the debt, lets just roll out the money printing machines and lower the value of the dollar even more.

If this problem doesn't get fixed, the dollar will be worth the same thing as the Mexican peso in 10 years.

Damn democrats always trying to get rid of the deficit. How Anti-America can you get?

Put another Republican in office so we can hit a new record and get into the hundreds of trillions in deficit.

It seems so obvious to me that Americans don't want to reduce spending (otherwise we would). So, it seems like a given, an exceedingly obvious truth, that we must raise taxes.

Somehow, Republicans seem to think that spending more than we take in year after year is ok. I could respect the Republicans when they scream "Democrats are coming to raise your taxes" if they had produced balanced budgets the last 6 years by lowering taxes and spending. I wouldn't agree with them that we should, but I could respect the view.

Unbelievably, Bush will probably actually win some votes for the Republicans. Sad, because it seems like such a tyranny over future generations.

Vote Democratic: The Party of Fiscal Responsibility
Vote Republican: The Party of Tax Your Children

Bush taxes the middle class to death, while he gave huge tax breaks to his millonairs buddies. For more campaign money, he even gave corporations tax incentives to move jobs abroad, and gave the oil industries over $2 billion dollar break every year. While he is giving all these tax breaks to his rich friends, he goes cap in hand to borrow more money from Mexico, China, Opec, Saudi Arabia, Chile (yes chile!), japan, to pay interest on the outstanding loans. I heard he knocked on the door of Venezuela president Chavez, but he wouldnt open the door, and that was how the hostility started between him and Bush. Our debt is over $9 trillion dollars and that is approximately $82,000 per Us house hold. These white house occupants are nothing but deceivers and they preside over one of the most efficient and callous propaganda that puts the Nazi propaganda machine to shame. May God help us and save us from these monsters.

Yet another one like DANARHEA who has no idea that any Tax hike within the next 2 years would have to be signed into law by the President, so if he signs a tax hike into law, then you know that like his father, (read my lips-No Tax Hike) NEVER TRUST A POLITICIAN.

All Politicians Lie.

Most Politicians are corrupt.

you mean the democrats actually want to pay for their expenditures?

so you admit that the dems would raise taxes if they controlled the government.

thats all I needed to see.

you can send in extra anytime you like.

rather than giving the government more money to spend, I would like to see them forced to controll spending.

just like you, and I have to do with our budgets.

are you able to demand your friends give you more money when you over spend?

or heres a novel idea. lets control our spending.

I admit that there is a possibility, and I have no problem admitting that. So I take it a wager is off the table? *bats eyelashes*

absolutely not. the wager I offered is definately still up for grabs.

theres no need for it now, since you have admitted the left would definately raise taxes if in charge.
but if you want to accept....I could use an extra 500 bucks.

Its not at all necessary that taxes be raised, at any time, to take care of any deficit or any debt.

If spending is cut, then taxes need not be raised.

And so anyone that argues that Bush and/or the Republicans has raied 'future taxes' or has only 'deferred' tax hikes, or ddnt actually cut your taxes, just deferred them to a future date is arguing a fallacy.

It doesn't matter who's president in the future. Taxes will have to be raised. Bush may be remembered for his tax cuts, but tax cuts have to be combined with a decrease in government spending...something Bush has no interest in.

Bush's policies may ultimately be responsible for the largest tax increase in American history. But of course, the republicans will distort and say...see...the Dems raised taxes.

Thanks to Bush, there's no other way around it.

I'm just waiting for us to go to war with Iran or North Korea. Then the taxes will REALLY be raised when whoever get in office gets in office.

And like you mentioned Hoot, and like the Republicans have been doing for the past few months now (especially after the report on how we're at more of a risk for terror since 9/11 and Clinton's interview), they will turn it around, distort the truth (got to love Faux News) and blame it all on the Democrats.

No thanks

I'd like that too. I'd like to win the lottery.

just like you, and I have to do with our budgets.

No.
