President Bush's approval rating was at 44% today, roughly the highest it's been in over a month. There's not really much more to this, simply a desire to show that contrary to MSM hypnosis, Bush is not in fact being booed out of office.

Approval ratings don't change that much over the course of a month unless there's some kind of national disaster. Drawing a conclusion about Bush's approval rating over the course of a month (especially in a month when the fluctuation in his numbers wasn't even outside the margin of error) is like trying to draw a conclusion about the state of the economy based on the DJIA's performance today.

Furthermore, why do you think Bush's numbers slightly improved? Bush hasn't done anything in the last month. If he is any more popular now than a month ago (which I'm not at all sure of), it's because he hasn't done anything recently to **** people off, not because the public is starting to come around to his policies.

Is that a whole 44%?

Not arguing that he's moving up, just that despite the 125 stories i can find on lexis nexis from major newspapers in the last month claiming that bush hit "new lows," he's actually remained steady if not increased a point or two in that time frame.

And that 44% is just among his cabinet members. The numbers go up slightly again if you poll the white house staff as well.

:rofl

I hear he's holding strong at 63% with Barney, although you don't wanna hear the Laura numbers....

Really? A recent poll showed that 47% of people in a poll STRONGLY disapprove of him. That ain't good.

I've been kind of confused by that, there have been numerous polls claiming he's been as low as 34%, etc. Yet rasmussen (far and away the best polling company around) has never had him below 40.

OK. Lets take a look at your own link:

Saturday April 15, 2006--Forty-two percent (42%) of American adults approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. Fifty-four percent (57%) disapprove.

Your own link defeats your own argument. And I dont blame you for adding another 2% to the poll on your own. Bush needs all the help he can get.

That would be Sunday's poll results. On saturday it was 44%, but it updates daily. Forgive me for posting a thread without properly predicting the future.

And here I was, in the middle of typing up a thread that said "With October's capture of Osama Bin Laden, President bush's approval ratings shot up to 54 percent today, just in time to give fellow republicans a boost before the midterm elections..."

guess i should give miss cleo a call

Ya think they may have him stashed away in one of those 'secret' foreign prisons and then they can 'capture' him just before the elections? Sorta like a 'canned' quail hunt?
Just don't invite Cheney, we don't want him full of holes!! :2funny:

Of the more than 60% of voters who disapprove of the job he is doing, 47% strongly disapprove. The numbers you're looking at are related to those that support him. I agree that the majority of polls that discuss those that support him are around 40%. That's a minority of people--not something to be proud of.
