Telltale

All of us know that Bulgaria has lost over 20 soldiers and 10 civilians in Iraq since it joined military operations there in December, 2003. So in 2005 our parliament decided to withdraw our troops from Iraq before December 31, 2005.
But why on earth now our Defense Minister, Vesselin Bliznakov, has said that “Bulgaria is ready to send its new military contingent to Iraq”, I wonder! What happened? Why did our military have to change their mind towards our participation in Iraqi insensible carnage?
The matter is that Washington continues to blackmail our government. As it has been known from those, who close to our ruling circles, USA resorts to direct threats of our involving in Iraqi war in the case of our refusal to continue supplies of own combat weaponry and arms from other Western countries to the Republic of Georgia. Well, better one-eyed than stone-blind…
