Been working on a 16 inch open frame reflector for a few months now but I cant get the secondary mirror to collimate. I’m thinking I need to redesign the spider, which is the standard 3 vane. I have found a curved 3 vane design but cant find anyone who has used them..

Most of what I've seen on the web is for smaller scopes (10 inch or less) in which case to can use cardboard or balsa wood.

PS. The lbs factor is out the window so I don’t care about what it weighs.
Whats 5lbs to 260lbs..

any ideas?
