Oh, yes!Yes, woke ideology has infected the UK, and unfortunately they don’t have the First Amendment protections that we do.
Why do you think the body of the letter is a completely different color than the header or footer?Yes, woke ideology has infected the UK, and unfortunately they don’t have the First Amendment protections that we do.
The angle of the lighting and the folds of the page creating a shadow. You?Why do you think the body of the letter is a completely different color than the header or footer?
Don't know that there is more woke silliness there than here, but controlling one's speech is more easily done there than here.Oh, yes!
Hear tell the home of the Magna Carta is now much more woke than this nation.
No signature either, or city name. Why do you think the body of the letter is a completely different color than the header or footer?
Fair, but this would fit a pattern. A UK army vet was arrested over the summer for retweeting a parody of the newly designed pride flag.Without the context of the comments, we don't have much to go on, do we? The UK, like EU member nations, has laws that criminalize hate speech. It has nothing to do with wokeness - it's the law
I don't agree wth the woke agenda, but I don't see a problem with prosecuting slander. I wish they would do it here in the USA.Yes, woke ideology has infected the UK, and unfortunately they don’t have the First Amendment protections that we do.
This is not a reasonable explanation, because the lighting would not make both the top and bottom lighter in nearly perfect lines, not least of which because the paper is essentially flat, meaning there could be no shadow created. The angle of the lighting and the folds of the page creating a shadow. You?
We let people sue for slander here. Criticizing the fact that there are "too many rainbow flags" lining a street isn't slander. It's an opinion, and not even close to being hate speech either.I don't agree wth the woke agenda, but I don't see a problem with prosecuting slander. I wish they would do it here in the USA.
The link says he used the word "nonce" which is brittish slang for pedophile. Again, personally, I don't have a problem with prosecuting slander.Without the context of the comments, we don't have much to go on, do we? The UK, like EU member nations, has laws that criminalize hate speech. It has nothing to do with wokeness - it's the law
What is the harmful digital communications act?
The Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015 (the Act) tackles some of the ways people use technology to hurt others. It aims to prevent and reduce the impact of online bullying, harassment, revenge porn and other forms of abuse and intimidation.
127. - (1) A person is guilty of an offence if he- (a) sends by means of a public electronic communications network a message or other matter that is grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character; or (b) causes any such message or matter to be so sent.
Arrested for "causing anxiety". How horrific.Fair, but this would fit a pattern. A UK army vet was arrested over the summer for retweeting a parody of the newly designed pride flag.
Veteran is arrested 'for causing anxiety' for retweeting swastika meme
Darren Brady, 51, has slammed Hampshire Police for 'impeding his right to free speech' after he was placed into handcuffs on Friday at his home in Aldershot for sharing a meme.www.dailymail.co.uk
Never trust things like that posted on the internet. It could be fake, but if the story is true, it is slander, defamation of character, etc. This is not a reasonable explanation, because the lighting would not make both the top and bottom lighter in nearly perfect lines, not least of which because the paper is essentially flat, meaning there could be no shadow created.
I think it is BS and someone typed up their own letter and then used a copy machine to put an original letter behind the typed copy. You can even see a little line in the top left corner which appears to be a top of a different page. That makes far more sense to explain the discoloration than what you said.
Interesting how credulous you are this is real...
Are you going to address the idea that there's a very good chance the letter you posted in the OP is fake?Arrested for "causing anxiety". How horrific.
first amendment isn't much protection when the FBI is a "subsidiary" of Twitter-Yes, woke ideology has infected the UK, and unfortunately they don’t have the First Amendment protections that we do.
Never trust things like that posted on the internet. It could be fake, but if the story is true, it is slander, defamation of character, etc.
What about the idea that it may not even be real?Coming from the same place (and supported by the same idiot leftist ****wits) that arrested a woman for praying in public outside a baby slaughterhouse, this isnt all that surprising.
The first amendment doesn't protect against slander, and the justice system should prosecute. But its not politically correct to do so, unless a righty slanders a lefty.Knew this would get some first amendment crap. Just another good reason to get rid of that dumb as constitution of america.
So basically if someone sends a text that is offensive or indecent a person can be arrested for that.
Where as in idiot america apparently you can say whatever shit comes out of your mouth and fall back on an idiot constitution to protect your right to spread whatever lies , disinformation and slander about anyone you want.
You do not have freedom of speech. All that americans can do is babble.
Nah.....we mostly tend to like our constitution, thanks. It must suck to not be able to speak your mind without worrying you could be arrested.Just another good reason to get rid of that dumb as constitution of america.
Yep. Different country, different laws. They even have surveillance cameras just about everywhere.Coming from the same place (and supported by the same idiot leftist ****wits) that arrested a woman for praying in public outside a baby slaughterhouse, this isnt all that surprising.
This has been talked about numerous times here in the past...people arrested for social media comments or even jokes that others found 'offensive'. the UK does not have the same rights and freedoms we enjoy, and so if thats the kind of government they want...**** them...enjoy their 'future'...whatever that ends up looking like. But for us, its a reminder to not allow the shitheads to use the force of government and the courts to oppress freedom of speech. It is precisely why the Bill of Rights is so important.........ALL of the component amendments of the Bill of Rights.
