Two British women have had acid thrown in their faces in Zanzibar, police on the east African island say.

The two women were volunteers for the charity Art in Tanzania, having booked through the company i-to-i Travel.

Depending on your news source, the Times reports 2 men arrested and the Independent reports 5 men arrested.

The girls are due to arrive back here anytime now hopefully.

Unfortunately Zanzibar isn't the only place such cowardly attacks have happened - attacks are quite rare and the chances (either here in UK, Zanzibar or even the US) are very small.
