Hi,

Are there any products out there that will do the work of brick mortar?

I have a few bricks to lay. But it makes no sense to buy 25 lbs. of mortar to lay 8 bricks. Are there any products out there that will do the job?

As Luther mentioned, you can buy pre-mixed mortar in small quantities. As far as doing the work goes though, I'm afraid you're on your own there. Here's a tip though, and it might make you're work go a little better. If you have no experience at laying brick, I suggest you get the smallest trowel available. It'll go easier for you.

If what you're doing is just decorative and not structural you can probably get away with Quikrete. Quikrete 10 lb. Quick-Setting Cement-124011 - The Home Depot

The aggregate may be too large for use as mortar. They do make a mortar patch/sealer compound (a rubbery grey goo sold in caulk like tubes) but that may require using spacers (under the brick) to prevent the bricks from settling before the goo sets up.

Shop QUIKRETE Repair 10-fl oz Acrylic Masonry Sealer for Concrete at Lowes.com

I don't know is gray is available, but premixed sanded tile grout might work OK.

Is this just a cosmetic repair on a flat surface? Maybe gray latex caulk?

Spacers can be old bolts.
