BREAKING: US Benghazi Hero Waited 20 Hours For Help With a Shredded Leg – While Obama Campaigned in Las Vegas

Diplomatic security agent David Ubben, like former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, ran into the Special Mission Compound (SMC) to help save US officials under siege in Benghazi. Ubben was struck by a mortar round that killed Woods and Doherty. His leg was shredded. Ubben was forced to wait twenty hours before a plane was sent to pick him up.

While Ubben was waiting for help with a shredded leg Barack Obama was campaigning in Las Vegas.

Benghazi Scandal "Phony Scandal?" - David Ubben Fought Alongside Doherty and Woods. Can anyone come up with a good reason why this man had to wait more than for twenty hours wounded and in pain to get medical treatment. We still want to know who gave the order to "Stand Down"? While Mr. Ubben lay in pain our dear leadr did the following:

So Libya is dangerous because of Obama? Umm...sure.

Noooo, that's not what is being said. We already know that Ambassador Stevens alerted the State Dept. to the needs for more security and that things were going to s*&*t. Why wasn't help sent when there were assets available for a timely rescue of the wounded and survivors?

To do so would have put the Embassy in Tripoli at risk. He knew Benghazi was dangerous, he still went without a security contingent. He put the mission and the interests of the United States above his own life, and he knew he was doing it.

We should be celebrating this admirable person. Instead we cheapen his death to score political points against Obama.

I'm sure that the surviving families of Doherty, Woods, Smith, Stevens and Ubben have been given that information. Surely they understand the fact that Obama had more important things to do like campaigning and telling lies about the Benghazi in the hours following the attack were more important.

Way to completely miss what I said.

No I didn't miss the point. Both Obama and Hillary claimed they would get to the bottom of this improvised mob attack based upon a fictitious vague video. Seems the FBI investigation took months to even get started and now after 10 months we're supposed to believe that the allegations of an administration conspiracy are phony? They promised the families of the heroes killed and maimed. Where are the results?

No "Stand Down" order was given.

Officer: No Libya stand-down order

WASHINGTON - The former commander of a four-member Army Special Forces unit in Tripoli, Libya, denied Wednesday that he was told to stand down during last year's deadly assault on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi.

In a closed-door session with the House Armed Services Committee, Lt. Col. S.E. Gibson said his commanders told him to remain in the capital of Tripoli to defend Americans in the event of additional attacks and to help survivors being evacuated from Benghazi.

"Contrary to news reports, Gibson was not ordered to 'stand down' by higher command authorities in response to his understandable desire to lead a group of three other special forces soldiers to Benghazi," the Republican-led committee said in a summary of its classified briefing with military officials, including Gibson.

Four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, were killed in two attacks several hours apart on the night of Sept. 11, 2012.

Republicans insist that the Obama administration is guilty of a cover-up of the events despite a scathing independent report that faulted the State Department for inadequate security at the diplomatic mission.

They have accused the administration of misleading the American people about the cause of the terrorist incident during the heat of a presidential campaign, blaming a spontaneous protest over an anti-Islam video.

not really. What you did was blame the man for his own death and avoided criticizing those who might could have prevented it because they have (D) following their names.

Timeline: Military Response to Benghazi Attacks
By Julian E. Barnes

Testimony before a House committee Wednesday gave rise to new questions about whether the U.S. military could have done more to intervene during the terrorist attacks in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, 2012. Here is a timeline of the U.S. military’s response to the Benghazi attacks, as compiled by the Defense Department (all times local):

9:42 p.m.: U.S. consulate in Benghazi is attacked.

11:30 p.m.: Consulate personnel who survived the attack leave consulate for the nearby annex.

12:30 a.m. (approximately): A six-man security team — four are part of a quick-reaction force and two are special-operations force members — leave Tripoli on a Learjet to Benghazi.

12:30 a.m. (approximately): In a different part of Tripoli, four of the Army’s Green Berets, who are in Libya on a training mission, are asked to awaken U.S. personnel and help with a preventive evacuation in Tripoli.

Edward D. Prescott: Benghazi the Obama scandal worthy of GOP investigation

June 29, 2013

Attempts to tie President Obama to most Washington scandals are a waste of time. It is highly unlikely that they will be able to prove Obama's complicity.

Obama can maintain his distance, leaving the dirty work to his loyal sycophants. They don't need direction. There is no "Mr. Big" directing each underling's every move or issuing orders to the troops. Liberals and Democrats know instinctively what needs to be done to advance their socialist-progressive agenda. This mentality is seemingly genetically implanted at conception. Those so endowed don't need directions from above. In their lexicon, the end justifies the means.

In many ways, this mentality is reminiscent of soldier ants in tropical climates. These insects scavenged in huge packs numbering in the billions, devouring every living thing in their path. When confronted by this seething mass of insects, the locals had no defense except abandonment of their village and not to return until the threat passed.

I like the allegory that Edward Prescott uses to describe Obama's loyal sycophants as soldier ants. The article certainly is a good read.

Re: BREAKING: US Benghazi Hero Waited 20 Hours For Help With a Shredded Leg – While O

I still contend that the most egregious moment of Benghazi was when our President blamed a man living in America, exercising his right to free speech, while he knew the truth.

The bureaucracy is to blame; as much as you'd like to think we can put boots on the ground for a rescue such a mission takes days of planning.

If that's all you got out of it, a reading comprehension course may be in order.

What nobody's been able to answer is why leaving the embassy unguarded would be a good thing. Because it wouldn't have been. The Ambassador understood this, so he left a contingent behind to keep it safe. He put his country and his mission ahead of his own safety, and definitely way ahead of politics. A lot of people here could learn from that.

This was a Mission, not an embassy that's why it had much different security, ie no Marine Security Guards etc. I'm not excusing what happen just making a technical correction.

Benghazi was, yes. What I meant was why it would have been good to leave the embassy in Tripoli without adequate security.

Marine Security Guards did not leave the embassy at Tripoli, they're posted there 24-7.

I think they're talking about the tripoli embassy at that point which needed to be kept secure.

(Obviously late in my post..nothing to see here)

Hmm..., That's why the military has developed "Quick Reaction Forces" right down to squad level. You leave out the fact that a QRF was sent in reaction to Benghazi and by order told not to leave the airfield. They were just an hour away.

A four-member "quick reaction force," along with two ... unit intended to go to Benghazi, he was ordered to ... before the C-130 flight was to leave Tripoli ...

(CBS News) On the night of the deadly attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya, a team of American military commandos was sent from Europe to an airfield at Sigonella, in Sicily, Italy, putting them at least an hour's flight away from Benghazi, CBS News has learned.
The team, known as the Commander's In-extremis Force, was designed specifically for quick reaction to unforeseen emergencies. But U.S. officials say it did not arrive in Sicily until after the attack was over.
Even if the team had been ready in time, confusion about what was happening on the ground in Benghazi -- and State Department concerns about violating Libyan sovereignty -- made a military rescue mission impractical, the officials say.

Re: BREAKING: US Benghazi Hero Waited 20 Hours For Help With a Shredded Leg – While O

What was the meeting between Stevens and the Turkish attaché all about? Was it shipment of Libyan arms to Syrian insurgents?
Why would our QRF have to wait nearly a full a day to go in and rescue badly wounded Americans? Confusion within the State Dept. is a sham and cover up? As Obama would say it was "Phony", just like the claim that a video caused the attack.
