Or we could just stop messing with them. That would also work.
Let's be honest why Iran hates us. In 1953, we overthrew an elected government to install a despot.
For 25 years, that despot murdered and tortured his own people, lived large in palaces bought with oil money.
We then seized hundreds of billions of Iran's assets after they took embassy personnel hostage and refused to return it when those hostages were released.
We then subsidized Saddam Hussein for 8 years to make war on Iran (until the SOB turned on us.)
We shot down a plane full of pilgrims travelling to Mecca, and we gave the idiot officer who did it a medal!
Post #1,541Israel has no mass murder campaign. Muslim Supremacists, backed by Iran, launched a vile terrorist attack on 10/7 - that was a crime against humanity in pursuance of their goal of genocide of Jews in Israel.
That slogan you chant, "From the river to the sea," is a call for genocide of the Jews - as you well know.

Stop messing with them? That government is killing our citizens and has for decades. So if anyone should stop “messing with” someone, it’s them. Otherwise, they’re likely to end up with an even worse bloody nose. Trump is giving their government an opportunity to not be stupid. Will they take it? I’m hopeful. But if past is prologue, the odds indicate probably not, because a U.S. bogeyman is one of the few things that government has to offer its people.
A point that escapes so many naive Westerners is if an autocratic government says something, everyone believes it. Therefore, it must be true. That’s complete nonsense. We should have figured that out after the fall of the Soviet Union and the scramble among former members of the Warsaw Pact to join NATO. Growing up during the Cold War, I was told all my life that Albanians hated us. We really didn’t know, because the country’s Stalinist leader had turned it into one of the most isolated and tightly-controlled countries on the planet, akin to today’s North Korea. After the fall of the Soviet Union, it was one of the first countries to engage with NATO, and applied for membership in 1994 the same day it signed the Partnership for Peace agreement. Today, it has a street in central Tirana, the capital, named after George Bush. Trump got his in 2017 in the city of Kamza, and was declared an honorary citizen.
Today, Putin’s government on one side of its mouth talks about its “Western partners” while in the other it tells its people the West is out to destroy it. Do average Russians believe that? Is it true? No doubt, perhaps many, of them believe that. They point is we really don’t know, because public dissent isn’t permitted. The same thing is true in Iran.
Yeah, USA bad, Supreme Leader good! I get it
We enlisted their help to geto our hostages out of Lebanon in the 1980s.
We asked for their help in stabilizing Iraq and Syria when ISIS took over.
What does that have to do with my point?
Okay, here's another one. We were told at the beginning of the War on Terror that the Afghan and Iraqi people just wanted to be free, and once we got rid of the Taliban and Ba'athists, they would be throwing flowers in the streets ahead of us.
Instead, what we got was years of fighting insurgencies, including ISIS and a resurgent Taliban.
Um, we aren't talking about Putin here.
No, more like, USA Dumb for getting involved in a part of the world it should avoid.
Instead, we let the Oil Companies and the Zionist Lobby drag us into war after war over there. We've been doing this since I was a child and now I'm an old man.

Remember, we’re the “Great Satan” while the Israel is the “Little Satan.” I would think that puts us first on Iran’s list of bad guys. Besides, what does the “Zionist lobby” have to do with Hamas killing our citizens or Houthis attacking our shipping and military personnel in the region?
Enlisted their help? When they weren’t blowing up our embassy, embassy annex, or Marine barracks, they were supporting proxies like Hezbollah that kidnapped and murdered our citizens. We negotiated “deals” with them instead of doing what we should have done, which was return the favor by killing their personnel and blowing up their facilities Bebe-style.
I don’t think we should base our response to eliminating Iran’s nuclear threat on anything we did in 1953. It’s political noise, much of it fueled by Iran’s despotic government, which in and of itself is ironic.
If they are living in Israel, they are not "our citizens".Remember, we’re the “Great Satan” while the Israel is the “Little Satan.” I would think that puts us first on Iran’s list of bad guys. Never heard of the concept of dual citizenship??If they are living in Israel, they are not "our citizens"

Looks as if you're not aware that some Israelis, too, indulge in racist chants:
...To earn money, she worked at a restaurant in a mall where fans of the soccer team Beitar Jerusalem, who are notorious for their anti-Arab racism, sometimes celebrated after games. Qasem Hassan would hear them chant “Mavet la’aravim!”—“Death to Arabs!”...
Do you guys really think that nonsense works?Anti-semite detected
