BREAKING : Condemning Bucha cruelty, EU offers speedy start for Ukraine membership

The U.S. military would kick their asses.
The very idea of U.S. forces intervening would have Putin slinking back with his tail between his legs.
It's about time the world stood up to Putin -- who uses threats to get what he wants. Eventually, we will have to do it. Now is the best time.
Warmongering

What if Russia DID invade Poland? All the arguments, e.g. that this would threaten world war III, so we should back down, is the same for Poland as it is for Ukraine.
If you believe this, there's no sense in continuing this exchange.

Gee, thats what we said about the Japanese before Pearl Harbor too.

And the North Vietnamese as well, funnily enough. And the Chinese.....and the Afghans.....and the Iraqis.

How many American lives did that cost?

Some folks never learn.

Maybe 3 generations from now Ukraine could actually be in consideration for EU membership.
Maybe in 3 generations the hate the Ukrainians now feel for there Russian neighbors will disapate. War and crimes against humanity create ethnic conflicts which are passed on to the next generation.

There was a report of a young boy who seen his grandfather shot point blank by a Russian soldier. That boy will take that memory and pass it to his son, and on we go.

Thanks Putin 🙄

Before Pearl Harbor, the U.S. had the 19th largest military in the world. Ships were WWI vintage and when my father enlisted, he practiced with a piece of wood because there weren't enough rifles.
Korea, Vietnam and Afghanistan were guerilla wars.
The kind of combat in Ukraine is exactly the type our military is designed to fight -- anti-tank, anti-ship and anti-aircraft battles.

And today, we spent twenty years fighting a bunch of goatherders with forty year old rifles and STILL couldn’t win. The book on how to defeat the US has been written quite clearly.

Uh....no, Korea was a straight up conventional war. We just massively underestimated the Chinese and wound up nearly losing it outright.

The US forces defending the Philippines and elsewhere refused to take the Japanese threat seriously because they were seen as inferior. When war kicked off, that wound up getting a lot of Americans killed.

America NEVER thinks the other side is capable of fighting back, and we are ALWAYS given a bloody nose as a result. As I said......some people never learn.

And often they are right. The first Gulf War should not have been waged but the U.S. overwhelmed the Iraqi military. It was particularly one sided.

Except no, they really aren’t. That lead us into a bloody meat grinder a decade or so late because people like you assumed the Iraqis couldn’t fight.

And Russia’s air defense system is substantially stronger than that of Iraq, which makes the “it’ll be just like Desert Storm” fantasy even more laughable.
