No, its most certainly is a 'rule for thee, but none for me', in essence its Republicans shouldn't have gallery visitors who are cancer patients, while Democrats may.
I guess we'd have to have @Lovebug elaborate what she meant by her post.
So take the lack of clapping and standing by congressional Democrats for the kid as showing a lack of support for police?
OK.
Well, the Dems did start and support the 'defund the police' bullshit, so I guess that'd be accurate.
This requires closer examination as I referred to in post #124.
Of the 'cuts' implemented, many of them actually impacted 'indirect costs' (i.e. overhead expenses), not cancer research efforts themselves.
Indirect Cost Caps: A key policy involved capping "indirect costs" (e.g., facilities, utilities, administrative support) for NIH grants at 15%, down from an average of 30-50%. This was estimated to save $4 billion annually but was criticized by researchers as effectively cutting research capacity, as these costs are essential for maintaining labs and clinical trials. For example, the University of Washington projected losses of $90-110 million, potentially halting trials for cancers and other diseases. A federal judge blocked this cap in March 2025, citing "irreparable harm" to research and patients, so it has not been fully implemented.
and even those were 'not been fully implemented'. So what's the real truth behind this push narrative from the left?
What is more important standing up or cutting Medicaid and other programs designed to help the sick and poor?It would be in character for the Dems, in character as much as not standing for that boy at the state of the union address.
So why wouldn't the Dems in congress stand for the boy during the state of the union address?
I think the dark, evil hyper-partisanship world that you see is shown in exactly in that lack of standing up.
What the hell are you talking about?I am sure that the democrats who refused to stand and applaud this young man for his bravery in fighting cancer will be glad to hear this news.
For the rest of us normal folks not on the left we will keep this survivor in our prayers and hope he makes it through this.
Brain cancer patient DJ Daniel faces 3 new tumors after inspiring President Trump, law enforcement
DJ Daniel, a 13-year-old with brain cancer, was diagnosed with new tumors but continues to inspire after being sworn in to 1,351 law enforcement agencies.www.foxnews.com
Do please cite the cuts which have been made, and why. What is more important standing up or cutting Medicaid and other programs designed to help the sick and poor?
You choose symbolic over real how fitting.
I feel for the kid.....paraded out like that as if he were a fancy toy while he's suffering thru his cancer issues.Poor kid. Brain and spinal cancer. Now more tumors (sites undisclosed).
The bill has passed in the House of Reps but not yet in the Senate. Don't be obtuse.Do please cite the cuts which have been made, and why.
Last I recall, there have been no cuts. Should this be the case, then you are just parroting the left's baseless push narrative, i.e. political propaganda, so shame on you.
Good point. Who would have thought that Trump's elimination of governmental departments, mass firing, and slashing funding for research would have an adverse effect nationwide?I truly hope research into pediatric cancers / brain and spinal tumors has not been adversely affected in the last months.
So which is more offensive: not standing and clapping or standing and clapping which also cutting the funding that would help someone in this situation? You mean the world where every single Democrat refused to stand for DJ Daniels at the State of the Union? That "dark evil world" is the one we are living in, you Democrats, and your gaslighting techniques don't work anymore; everyone is sick of it. You can't just pretend Republicans are evil people living in a separate universe when almost every "conspiracy theory" you lied about, from Biden having dementia to Hunter Biden's crack laptop existing, has been proven true. You have lied and gaslighted the public, and I'm sick of it.
What is 'obtuse' is claiming there are cuts when the legislation hasn't even been passed yet.The bill has passed in the House of Reps but not yet in the Senate. Don't be obtuse.
The GOP has a majority in the Senate so the likelihood of it passing is great. Its a cluster**** of legislation that hurts everyone but the rich who get tax cuts. What is 'obtuse' is claiming there are cuts when the legislation hasn't even been passed yet.

If cuts to cancer research are part of any bill, MAGA won't even be upset that its even being considered. What is 'obtuse' is claiming there are cuts when the legislation hasn't even been passed yet.
This doesn't change the fact that that legislation hasn't even passed yet, and hasn't instituted any cuts at all.The GOP has a majority in the Senate so the likelihood of it passing is great.
Yes, this is the left-wing push narrative, and is always the push narrative demanded to be parroted whenever there is spending legislation which doesn't increase every department's budget. Its a cluster**** of legislation that hurts everyone but the rich who get tax cuts.
The house doesn't count? You really wanna run with that? This doesn't change the fact that that legislation hasn't even passed yet, and hasn't instituted any cuts at all.

Actually, it's you libruls who do not give a shit about the kid, as was displayed by your democrat congress critters at the state of the Union speech. You people don't give a shit about this kid.
Hi Ol Nate. Proof that backs up what I wrote above, (post 102). is available on C-SPAN's YouTube channel. The specific moment begins approximately at the 2:27:48 mark. When the camera pans the room at around 2:28:12, it shows a contrast between the two sides of the chamber: many Republican members of Congress are standing and applauding, while a significant number of individuals on the Democratic side appear to remain seated and not clapping at that point. However, at 2:28:06, some Democratic members are briefly visible clapping in the background. So, I've got a couple things I need a bit of help with, and I'd accept it from either left or right leaning members...probably good to get it from both, to be honest...hehe..
1) Does anyone have the video footage of the Democrat party not applauding this kid? I have looked up and down youtube and while I saw the speech, I did not see a lot of shots of the Dems, it was mostly Trump, and this kid being hoisted in the air a bunch of times and looking like he ought to be at home.
2) Is honoring people in this way common in this kind of speech? Like, legitimately asking, I have no idea.
3) Did everyone know the kid would be honored that night?
If anyone could help me with this, I'd really appreciate it.
Did Schumer bring a kid with cancer out as a political pawn?

I'm rather skeptical that you have any clue at all what motives 'MAGA', much less what they may, or more likely may not, think. And MAGA wanted to remove costs (directly and indirectly), because they think cancer research is not valuable. It took a judge to strike that down. Of course government is looking to slash monies to universities who are directly involved in cancer research.
Pawn?
Only in the minds of the most politically driven, the most skeptical.
So, No, I don't think so.
More accurately, giving the kid one of his wishes,.
DJ's pursuit of being sworn in by numerous law enforcement agencies stems from his passion for policing and his desire to connect with the law enforcement community. Since his diagnosis, he and his father, Theodis Daniel, have been on a mission to have DJ recognized by as many police departments as possible. By March 30, 2025, DJ had been sworn in by 914 law enforcement agencies, and by May 30, 2025, this number had grown to 1,351 agencies, reflecting his ongoing quest to fulfill his dream and inspire others.

like 3 blind men grabbing different parts of an elephant and describing the animal.
I don't think I'll ever forget how not one Democrat at the State of the Union speech clapped for this young teen boy when it was announced that he was a cancer survivor.
How heartless. /
At any rate, I pray for a miracle. Cancer sucks.
You’re quite welcome.Heya Trix. Thanks for this, I'll check it out tonight, I'm running around like a chicken with it's head cut off, trying to get my little man fed ahead of a zoom meeting that starts in an hour.
Especially thank you for the time stamp, that's a big ass video to go hunting in.
