Antelope Wells, New Mexico - The day after apprehending a group of 247 undocumented immigrants, Border Patrol agents in New Mexico's "boot heel" encountered a second large group of 115 undocumented immigrants smuggled into the US.


On January 16, 2019, agents apprehended 247 undocumented immigrants. The Border Patrol said "criminal organizations attempted to use this massive distraction to move illegal drugs across the border just west of the Antelope Wells area."

Border Patrol agents were able to arrest "drug mules" and seize 265 pounds of marijuana.


Residents in the community told ABC-7 they're fearful and agree with President Donald Trump's calls for stronger border security.

At this point, it's obvuious that the dems just don't care and are just stuck in the whole **** Trump mode. Possibly until he is finsihsed with his term at this point. It doesn't help tht the few who are willing to actaully cooporate with him on at least a few things, are just going to be beaten down by their own side.

WTF are you talking about? If prisons had no barriers around them, prisoners would have to be confined to their cellblocks like caged rats. They wouldn't have enough guards or guns to arm them with, to control groups of prisoners out on the yard or being transferred. You have know idea what you're talking about.

Think about your statement there, just a little. Being armed in and of itself doesn't mean all that much, really. It's the ability to use the fire arm and the willingness to impose your will with it that does. That has to be demonstrated. So you're really suggesting that we shoot a few people trying to cross the border to demonstrate that we're serious. I don't endorse such a policy, and neither do you, I hope. A non-lethal deterrent, what ever it might be, would be better.

Hey, CJ. You're new here...welcome to DP. Just a friendly nod to let you know you've landed in the garbage heap...there is better debate to be had in other threads.

Also, you should hit them over the head for the prison false equivalency. A prison is enclosed on all sides, with multiple layers of security, and manned at all times. A wall can be dug under, flown or climbed over, or sailed around. Or people can go through it legally for any number of reasons and never come back. Or, as someone else pointed out today, it can be drilled / broken through with household tools. And good luck keeping an eye on it all of the time.
