Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) endorsed fellow New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker's (D) presidential bid on Friday, making him the first senator to endorse a colleague in the party's crowded 2020 race.

"I can't think of anyone better to represent and unite the American people. Cory makes a great friend, and will make an even greater president. I can't wait to support you on this journey—I'm all in!" Menendez said in a tweet on Friday.

Not sure how I feel about Cory, considering the monetary support he receives from Big Pharma, but I'll support whichever person is able to put on a solid show against the orange abomination-in-chief, and Cory has a better than average chance at that.

So, good luck to Senator Booker.

Obtaining a fellow Senator's endorsement from the same State from the same Party is not really much of a surprise.

However, I am on the fence on how good of a candidate Booker is. Unsure what his brand of liberalism means to pulling in the type of support needed with the base plus getting the Independents as well. He may end up doing more to help Trump than harm his reelection chances.

Meh. I'm not enamored of Corey, and don't think he will be strong against Trump. And a home state senator endorsing isn't a lot to brag about.

Right now, I'm looking to see what Kamala Harris can get going. Because she checks many of my policy boxes. I think she can go toe-to-toe with Trump, and I think she will have a lot of personal appeal.

So Spartacus throws his hat into the ring. Whoopie

So far all that have lined up to be Democrat candidates are leftists that don't have a chance in Hell of winning the election. No wonder they are so upset with the guy who use to be the CEO of Starbucks running as an Independent calling them out on their fecklessness. Too much sunshine for them to handle.

Big Pharma is New Jersey. I used to call on them all when I was in the chemical industry.

Harris is an attractive candidate for several reasons. Personally, I’d like to see Sherrod Brown jump in.

Good luck with that one. Because of the far left swing in the Democratic party from abortion to healthcare, Brown doesn't have a chance in his home state Ohio.

You do realize that he just got re-elected in a state Trump took by 8 points?

.Oh yes, I live in Ohio and Brown unfortunately is my senator. But he is on thin ice and knows it. That is why he shot a message to his party a few days ago that if they align with progressives over workers they will lose. Guess they aren't listening.

I’m liking him more and more.

Brown isn’t far left, where most Dems are moving. That doesn’t make him a popular choice within his party, I get that.

I think he's the best candidate so far. Did you know he got a Master degree from Stanford and when to Yale law school? On top of this, he ran into a burning building and saved someone showing heroic bravery.

He's also far more energetic, charismatic and intelligent than Kamala Harris.

Uh-huh. And more fullacrap than Maxine Waters and CNN combined:

Newark activists say Booker’s fire-rescue story is all wet

NEWARK — Mayor Cory Booker has repeatedly claimed he saved his neighbor from a fire in 2012, but two of the neighbor’s longtime friends say Booker’s story is not possible and the neighbor — a woman with an extensive criminal record — is not to be believed.

Zina Hodge was allegedly rescued from a kitchen fire by Mayor Booker in April 2012. The story received international media attention, with the New York Times, CBS, ABC, Oprah, and the New Jersey media among many others, providing extensive coverage of the “superhero” mayor.

In Booker’s telling of the story, he entered the burning building next to his own property, after breaking the restraints of a police detective, in order to rescue Hodge. He claims he threw Hodge over his shoulder and carried her to safety while sustaining second-degree burns on his hand. He later appeared on “Oprah’s Next Chapter” to tell the legendary hostess that he had a “come to Jesus moment” in which he felt he might not survive.

According to neighbors and community activists Donna Jackson and Cassandra Dock, the entire story is a fabrication.

“I don’t believe he went in there,” Dock told The Daily Caller. I don’t believe he saved her. I don’t believe he put her over his back and brought her out. First of all, the hallway is too narrow for both of them to fit through that hallway so I don’t believe none of that.”
]Dock told The Daily Caller Hodge reacted by “laughing” when Dock confronted her about the holes in her story.

Did he also fake the smoke inhalation and burns?

Booker was taken to a hospital Thursday night to be treated for smoke inhalation and second-degree burns on his hand. The woman he pulled out of the house was in stable condition and his security guards, who helped other residents get out of the building, also were taken to the hospital.

Yeah. She's Left enough for the Bernie Babies, but also has that states attorney A.G. law & order thing going on. But come to think of it, Sherrod Brown & her might make a smart ticket! Thanks for the mention!

A Brown and Harris, or Harris and Brown ticket would have broad appeal across the Dem/lib spectrum (IMO).

Yeah, I like Harris on the ticket too. And if she's on top, I'm thinking the Dems need a moderate older white male to balance it out.

Crazy as it sounds, I think Doug Jones could be the new millennia LBJ to her JFK (sort of). But then the Dems would lose a critical Senate seat in what's a critical Senatorial election.
